Re: (Kincaid)

These tires are my third set since purchase in 2003. Original tires lasted 30,000, second set over 70,000(great set of Goodyears) and these have 55,000. IMO Goodyears are worth the extra price if you are keeping the car for a long time.I did the Geo. Washington quarter test on all four tires and all...

Tire life expectancy

I have 55,000 miles on my Cooper tires that have a rating of 780. Should I expect around 78,000 on these tires or do the ratings mean something else?

Your choice for next car

Based on what is currently on the market, if you had to replace your Vibe, what new car would you choose?I am sure many would choose the Toyota Matrix but is there any other vehicle you like?I like the Suzuki Kizashi--AWD available, good mpg and decent price. Also, A Toyota Prius is a thought but lac...

broken door strut

Has anyone dealt with a broken door strut--the hinge that keeps your door from flying open? My driver side strut broke off and the majority of it is inside my door. Not really causing a problem but my mechanic quoted me $160 for the part and $90 for labor. Hard to believe $160 for this little part--...

Re: New here need advice on 03 awd vibe (fast86gn)

I have an 03 Vibe with 123,000 and I still love it! I get 30mpg on mostly highway driving. I has been a great car with only minor problems to deal with. The AWD works great in the sometimes winterlike Pittsburgh weather. You probably lose a couple of MPG due to the AWD but the trade is worth if you ...

Kiplinger's gives Vibe high marks

The December 2009 editon of Kiplinger's magazine gives it best used cars and the 2006 Vibe wins under great gas mileage in a small package. It makes the best list for 2009! Wake up GM--it is never too late!!!

Fuel filter replacement/location

My mechanic is planning on some tuneup work on my 2003 Vibe. He asked about the location of the fuel filter. Is the fuel filter located in a convienient location or not? I notice no info. in my book about replacing a fuel filter at a specific mileage also.

year for last Vibe

Trying to figure out when the last Vibe will be produced. Will there be a 2010 model available for purchase? Then you should be able to buy one new thru summer of 2010. Pending upon the eventual disolution of the Pontiac brand of course.

Re: (ColonelPanic)

Yes I was referring to the timing belt/chain--I know some autos do have chains which last much longer--so I am glad the Vibes have chains not belts. However since I am over 100,000 on my original belts, I will have them checked soon. Thanks!

Timing belt change

Does anyone know the general mileage a timing belt should be changed? I am over 100,000 miles with my original belt and I figure I am overdue for this change. I understand it is better to change it before it breaks on you--Mister Obvious!!!

Re: Cooper CS-4 tires--good replacement tire? (1oldbanjo)

Thank you for the Motor Trend article on the CS-4 by Cooper. I had them installed yesterday and I am happy with them. Time will tell but I will report back after I had some time to write a review of these tires.

Cooper CS-4 tires--good replacement tire?

I am in the market for a replacement tire for my 2003 Vibe. Currently using the Goodyear Assurance triple tred which is a great tire but my tire dealer was pushing the Cooper CS-4. They said it is as good as the Assurance but at a lower price. Any experience with the CS-4?

Two milestones reached on same day!

I reached two important milestones on my 2003 Vibe on 7/24/08. I hit 100,000 on my fifth anniversary of car ownership.100,000 miles--so far so good--knock on wood. Still have my original set of brakes due to all highway driving. Very few problems except for the window recall which I still think hasn...

Re: Recirculate door motor stripped (WENDY)

Yes I had this problem. Other forum on this site mentioned it probably was an actuator in the recirculate motor. Took it to my dealer and sure enough--that was the problem. Cost--$200 parts and labour.

Re: Window Recall (tots)

Got mine fixed about a month ago but I am still hearing the sound. So I took it to my dealer--since the window was wet due to rain that day, it didn't make the sound. Has anyone noticed the sound disappears when window is wet?

An update on my odd dashboard sound problem. When I turned on the internal air recirculation button --the sound went away. So the only time it makes this clicking sound would be when the button is disengaged.Hope this helps somebody!

Re: Odd sound from dash area (hambox)

I have had a similiar problem that popped up this week. When I turn the key to on, I hear a clicking sound that also is heard when the engine is on. No sound at all when acc. is turned to or when it is totally turned off. The sound is similiar to a clicking of a CD but it goes up and down in volume ...
