First, check the a/c fuse (near the air filter box) to make sure it's OK then check something else.

It depends on the way you drive. I changed the clutch at 160,000 miles and found out that it worn only haft. So that I think, you just drive until it start slipping.

I'm not sure about auto-adjusting clutch. I think you can adjust the clutch pedal to your taste. Just make sure that when you hit the clutch pedal: Easy to shift, change gear and the engine rpm doesn't change.
