I just added a new custom made shift knob. My brother made it on a CNC out of aluminum. It is a little too short so he is making another one that is a bit taller.

I think you guys should change it because it is only a week before the GM Midwest tuner show in WI Dells and the Dells is always a lot of fun.Just thought I'd try.
Someone help me out. I keep thinking that if you steal my credit card number and then use it online shouldn't they be able to catch you. I mean wouldn't most people then have the item shipped to them. I don't believe identity thieves are usually smart enough not to use someone else card and their ow...
Quote, originally posted by Suselew »but that probably dates me back to the 70s and 80sI guess pinstriping was popular in the 70's because my Special Edition Trans Am has about 100 feet worth of pin striping.
I pinstriped my Grand Prix and it looked great because I followed the lines of the cars. The way I did it was to lay down a thin strip of masking tape (moving it around until just right) and then use the masking tape to help place the stripe.
I also bought my vibe because of how easy it is to throw my bike in the back. I don't like driving with it on the outside of the vehicle. Also the plastic floor is nice so that any grim on the bike will easily clean out. Only disappointment is that in order to stand the bike I have to remove the sea...
Sweet thanks for finding out the threading for me. I am going to have my brother make me a shift knob. He does CNC machining. When he had a truck with a manual transmission he would make shift knobs all the time.
That is a tough question. I would think you would get more for the parts and the stock car separate but if it cost more to put back together then there is no point. You will also likely end up buying another car within a year anyways and then you have a payment again.
When I was restoring my trans am I used to get parts like that from Weaver Auto parts. They had a little book that I was able to go though and find that type of stuff. You might also find them at a Pep Boys they usually have a section of fasteners and clips and things.
Some people don't really care if a Matrix is Vibe. They walk on to a car lot see something pretty and buy it. It is not that she is dumb, it is just that she doesn't care about cars the way we do.On the other hand when you have people who claim to know all about cars say dumb things it is a little d...
For those who have a satellite radio receiver where have you mounted it. I put mine in the little square holder below the cup holders but it is hard to see. Wish I had a pick but still can't find my camera.

I see one member had problems with RP transmission fluid. Has anyone else had problems. My 5 speed has 30,000mi on it and I want to change the fluid. My local stores have MB1, Valvoline, and RP available, which should I use?
I know how much you guys love mods so I thought I would let you all chime in what I should do. I have wheels, tinted window and shifter bushings so it is essentially stock. I will be lowering it soon, I believe I am going to use h-tech. I will also be adding poly motor mounts and poly sway bar bushi...
I have heard that O2 sensors going bad can cause a large drop in fuel mileage without tripping the CEL. I don't know how much the ones on the Vibe cost but if they are pretty cheap you might try that.
They used to make radio manuals for fixing the radios, I have one for 78 GM Delco radios. I don't know of anyone who still fixes such things but you might look into it.

So far I have only put the seat down to transfer my wheels to the shop where I installed them. I like that I didn't have to have my brother haul them for me. My Vibe and I will get along just fine.
Great Summary.I personally have never sanded my interior parts I think it would ruin the grain. I have also never used clear coat. My last car had the the dash and center console painted for 5 years with no issues. Also it mentions using the SEM products, which is what I have always used.
I think a lot of it comes from experience. I think the biggest mistake that people make is not prepping the parts correctly. If your not using a good cleaner like Prep-All then you start. As for plastic interior parts try using an interior auto paint. If done right it will never crack, peel, chip or ...
I normally work nights and sleep a lot during the day. This guy parked outside my apartment 20ft from my bedroom window has his radio blarring again. NOBODY wants to hear his bass. I think his radio should be taken away from him. Anyone willing to come steal it.?
I have always used rustolem on my brakes calipers and the edge of the rotors, I originally got the idea from my neighbor who is the biggest car guy I have ever known. I have never had a problem with heat, the paint last for years. I will never understand why people pay up to $40 for the high temp pa...

I knew early last year that the GPS devices would be big during the holiday season. So I spent a lot of time researching the GPS companies last year. I can tell you that Garmin is the best company and I believe it is because thier products are the best. The most important thing about a GPS is the ma...

You should be able to turn in the claim without your rates changing. A windshield chip shouldn't even show up on your claims history. The whole point in paying the chips without a deductible is to get people to fix there windshields before they become a problem and cost the insurance company more.
