Thanks for the replies fellas. I probably should not be such a worry wart. It's just that the thought of damaged aluminum threads is something I would hate to have to deal with. I have plenty of experience with cast iron heads.

Changing plugs this weekend

I plan to finally change the spark plugs in my '03 base Vibe with almost 120K miles on it. The car still gets the same mileage that it has always gotten, around 32 mpg, so I expect that the old one's might come out looking like they could go another 100K.Anyway, I have never worked with aluminum hea...

Fog lamps go out when high beams are on by design. The logic is that you won't want to be running your high beams in the fog.

I just received notice that my XM subscription is up for renewal. I have not dealt with this in a couple of years and can't remember how much I paid the last time, only that it seemed to go up quite a bit from the time before. I have not checked yet to see how much they want this time. Thought I wou...

Since all cars are clear coated now, even if the color was a perfect match I don't think it would ever look right without some clear over the color coat.

I agree, less than two turns is not nearly enough. I picked up a couple of Toyota filters today. It is a fact that ACDelco does not manufacture anything anymore. Oil filter question

I have always used the ACDelco PF1233 filters on my two Vibes ('03 & '07) just because that would be the GM counterpart for the original equipment filter. However GM no longer manufactures their own filters and I do not consider the Vibe to be a GM product anyway.I have noticed that I am getting...

Re: Replaced pads/rotors and now a bad smell (pingber)

This is just a guess. The master cyl lid has to come off to back the piston into the caliper. If fluid was added as the pads wore and the level went down, then possibly some fluid has spilled from the reservoir and is now eating on things and evaporating with the heat. This would take a pretty carel...
