Tons of condensation inside

We have a new problem with our 03 vibe. There is tons of condensation inside the car that freezes up, but I have found only one small leak in the back that accounted for about one or two ounces of water. The seats feel a bit damp, but I can find no leaks in the car. The carpet is dry. I did notice a...

Recirculate motor tick/clunk

Hey All,

Mu 03 vibe has the ticking dash thing where the recirculater motor is stripped. I did a search, and the posts pointed to the following: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=23946

The thing is that the post is not found. Does anyone have the directions to fix this?

Thanks,

Lift gate diagram

Hey All,

We have an '03 vibe, and my daughter backed into a bush and dented the gate above the license plate holder. Now it will not lock. Anyone have a repair diagram for the lift gate that I can look at so I can fix the lock? I assume I'll have to try and push the dent out.

Thanks,

Re: Metallic rattle noise

Well, I checked the heat shield and it is solid. The motor mounts move about an inch and that's all. I'm wondering if the transmission could be making that noise, but it will go away when the engine is in neutral and also when you accelerate to anything over a couple miles an hour. The noise is more...

Metallic rattle noise

Hey All,

We have a hollow metallic rattle type of noise when the car is in gear and the brake is on. When we accelerate, the noise goes away. I think this may be a motor mount. Anyone have an idea of what it is?

Re: 2003 headlight issue

I'm having the same problem on the passenger side. I had an extra bulb, and it only works on high beam as well. I did hook the bulb up to a train transformer and it worked fine, so I am wondering if the socket is burnt up or something.

Sound deadening

Started the sound deadening on the Vibe. Have the rear cargo area and hatch door finished. So far have about a 40% reduction in road noise. Starting the doors next. We used RAAM Mat and Ensolite. Easy to put in and works great. Forgot pictures of the rear, but will take some of the doors and floor i...

Need new steel wheels

Hey there,

We have 2 bent rims on our '03 Vibe. Thought we would get a new set of wheels for it, but really just want some stock wheels.

Any suggestions on where to get them? All I can find are fancy aluminum wheels.

Thanks,

Steering Wheel Cover

We have been looking high and low for a steering wheel cover that fits. Everything we have found so far is too big. Anyone know of a brand that will fit?

Thanks,

Re: Radio Pops (ColonelPanic)

Yeah, I am using the factory amp.I'll go ahead and get the scoche thing. I had it wired through the usual wire harness earlier and had the hiss. but no popping. Should I wire the scoche from the usual harness and not the pre amp outputs?

Radio Pops

I just put in a Panasonic head unit on an '03 Vibe with Moons and Tunes. It pops real loud when I turn on the unit, when I turn off the unit, when I change components from radio to cd and then to XM, when I change radio and XM stations, and when I forward through a CD.I wired up a metra harness to t...

'03 Vibe Stock Radio getting hot

I don't know if anyone has had this come up, but we just noticed that the stock head unit in our 2003 Vibe is getting hot after it has been on for a while. Kinda wondering if we should replace it.Also, we get a weird buzzing sound in the speakers that goes away if we hit the door locks. Quite strang...

Any more ideas? Those BFG's are pretty pricey. We are looking for mileage but the tires have to be quieter than Goodyears that we have right now.

Budget isn't as much of a problem as road noise.... Looking around the 400 - 500 dollar range.

Need new tires

Hello all,We need new tires for our '03 Vibe. Does anyone have favorite tires? We have some Goodyears, but they are very noisy. I plan on getting the stock size for steel rims. We need some that are quieter. Thanks,

Re: (Sublimewind)

I'm gonna order two struts for the front and put them in myself. After looking it up in the service manual, it really does not look hard. The hardest part looks to be compressing the springs. I figure I can rent the compressor from Auto Zone. I have a torque wrench and all the other tools.

Where should I get them? Are they hard to put in? I thought about going to a tire place to get them, but I figured I'd get hosed on parts cost and labor....

Re: Hard sounds on bumps (Sublimewind)

We don't have any snow right now. I tried to push down on the car, but it really won't move at all. It almost feels like the struts are stuck. I tried each corner in the front and they really don't move. The rear end moves easier. When we hit a bump, it sounds like the force is transferred throughout...

Hard sounds on bumps

Hello,We have an '03 Vibe and it is making hard sounds on bumps now. It feels hard on bumps too. Is this a sign of the struts wearing out? Thanks,
