Had the same issue years ago. Changed the intake gasket, cleaned MAF sensor,PVC valve and throttle body. Still had the issue. Cleaned the IAC and it hasnt returned since.

Been spending my time repainting the cladding with duplicolor bumper paint. FYI.....DO NOT EVER EVER !!! paint the cladding. It will fade/chip it will look like CRAP and you will have to do it again, plus its A LOT of work. You will end up spending your life in " touch up " purgatory. YOU HAVE BEEN...

Replaced power steering return hose. Its the U shaped hose coming out of the reservior. Toyota wont sell you just the hose. I picked up a 2ft length of 3/8" power steering hose at O reillys for 5 bucks. its a TIGHT fit and be carefull sliding the hose over the plastic reservior connection. This hose...

Yeah...I never had a car this long ( 13 years ) and weird things start to wear out. I would have never thought ignition key/lock assembly :lol: I thought I was ok with my spare key...but then the spare key got stuck once....I was like...oh...must be the cylinder. Damn :roll:

As the topic states. Its not because the steering wheel is in the wrong position. I started using the spare and it has been working for the past 2 days but the key didnt turn today. I also took some compressed air blew out the key hole, and lightly lubed the keyhole with lithium grease using the key...

- All fluids except for trans fluid ( I wouldnt take the chance if you dont know the history ) - clean MAF sensor and throttle body - bottle of Techron fuel cleaner or 2 bottles if you can -AC cabin filter - check Spark plugs or just change them since they are out already - check the serpentine belt...

Yeah, this one puzzles me. My buddy gave me a hand with the replacement and he's actually a better mechanic than I am. Even he was saying hes not sure what the issue is. First time I actually replaced a part on the Vibe and had issues after the install. Looks like I will give Powerstop a call. Thx !

First repair for the year.....upper radiator hose. Vibe has a new cooling system. T stat, water pump, fan assembly, Coolant temp sensor, radiator and upper/lower hoses are new. Ready for the Florida heat :lol:

Just got done replacing water pump at 260K. Amazing....this is the original pump. I Had a small coolant leak from the bottom. Also replaced thermostat while I was there. Removing the alternator gave me full access to the pump and thermostat. About 3 hours total. I took my time with it. Hardest part ...

Yes ! That is the Toyota part. I replaced 3 recently and they were ALL OEM toyota parts.

Glad that fixed it for ya. Conicelli Toyota is a great place to get OEM parts for pretty reasonable prices. Yes They are...when I was replacing my engine/tranny mounts a member mentioned them. I saved a good amount of money using them over olathetoyota. I will be using them for all my OEM parts now...

I would use the T-IV fluid. I have 260K on mine and zero issues. Power flushed at 60K then drain and fills till now. Why chance with another type of fluid ?

Almost like its a obscure part OR doesnt go bad very often. Im going to go ahead and just get the whole rail. From the stock photos of toyota parts dealers online the drawing shows the fuel damper and rail as one piece. I dont wanna chance getting the fuel damper to find it doesnt fit.

I don't think it's separate either. Local dealer wants 162 bucks 😨 I can go to the local u pull it and I'm sure I can find another one out of a Corolla.... but I really hate to do all that work to put on a used part. I have no problem spending $100 on the part to fix it. Cheapest Toyota online parts...

Ok its DEFINITELY the disc that LOOKS like a pressure regulator on the fuel rail. Theres small amount of gas seeping from it. Hey Thanks for you going out of your way to help. I was able to find the OEM orings ( both of them at the local delaership ) 32 bux total. The car starts/drives otherwise, no issues no CEL. Oh absolutely. A car payment would be 3-4000K a year, and that's NOT including higher insurance rates. I would NEVER spend that much on parts even on a bad year. So its still a good financial decision to keep her. Thanks for your help too !
