Sold my Vibe

I wanted to thank you all here at genvibe. This past week my 2005 Vibe AWD with moon and tunes package was traded for another vehicle. I will miss that car and the fuel mileage I got. Rust, high miles, and rough winters had taken their toll on my awesome ride. I received great help here from alot of...

I'm not sure about buying the carbon filter or the regular. But I love Rock Auto! I can always find parts for my Vibe faster thru them.

Re: Cabin Air Filter Replacement (coratz)

My advice is to always remove the blower assembly before replacing the filter. I chose not to, and debris fell into the blower motor and eventually destroyed it. Had to replace the blower motor on a freezing new years day several years ago. Byt it's very easy to remove the motor.

Re: Rotating tires (Caretaker)

I stopped and talked to a buddy of mine who has been a mechanic for 25 plus years. He has an alignment machine and I told him my delima. He pulled off the front wheels and tried to rebalance them. Turns out I have broken belts in both front tires..... He said I wouldnt have noticed the pull so much ...

Front to back. Now that I think about it, jack placement wouldnt make a difference, would it? I placed the jack in the same spots under the car.....

Rotating tires

I rotated my tires today and inspected the brakes. After I got done, I took it out for a test drive and now I have a sharp pull to the right. I only moved tires/rims and thats it. The car has never had an alignment since Ive owned it, but now I will pony up the $75.What did I do wrong?

Had to stop and say thanks for the detailed info on changing this out. Took me about 30 minutes to change mine out. Ordered it from NAPA, paid $114, and waited eight days for it to get here.Weather has been totally (insert explative) here but now I got great heat!

Nah, nothing has happened. Ive had a few of those "life happens" issues the past few months that has tapped my finances pretty good. I did however replace the blower motor in my car. It was extremely easy cause I used this sight for a reference. That blower motor sure does work good, espci...

Re: (Sublimewind)

Thank you very much for the info. I was always under the impression that four wheel disc brakes were better. And I do plan on putting some aftermarket rims on it, and with drums, it would look kinda funny or tacky. But if I dont gain any braking ability, then it may not be worth it.I do enjoy my Vib...

Brake drum to disk conversion

Ok, I have an awesome 2005 Vibe AWD that has rear drum brakes. My question is how hard would it be to convert it over to disc brake in the rear? Im pretty handy with tools, and I think I could accomplish this. I was unsuccessful with finding any conversion kits online. Because it is an AWD, does tha...

Re: In-Cabin Filter (psiu)

I replaced my filter for the first time, at 75,000 miles. I wish I had taken pictures. It had leaves, maple seeds (the helicopters), dead bugs and twigs stuck in it. Being a smoker, the interior was getting to smell like an ashtray. I bought the filter at Orileys for less than $14.00 and it took me ...

Just wanted to say thanks for the great illistrations. I replaced my front discs and rotors today (64,825 miles). I used your illistrations to get me through it. Its been at least 12 years since I did brakes on my own. However, in the future, I plan on upgrading to slotted-cross drilled discs in my ...

I had the same thing happen to me recently. Now I have a large hole where the balck insert is supposed to be, right next to the fog lamp. Are there any aftermarkets that are worthy of purchasing? Does the dealership offer these parts at a reasonable price? Can you help a brother out please!

Greetings all! I purchased a 2005 Vibe AWD last July, and I love it. It came (used) with a high performance K&N air filter, a remote starter and only 23,000 on the odometer. Here are my questions:1. How the heck do I turn the head lights off? Even when Im in park, the lights wont turn off. I tur...
