How heavy (loaded) is your trailer? I tow a small Spanish made tent trailer it weighs about 350# probably closer to 450# once all the lawn chairs, stove, table etc are loaded.05 Vibe AWD
If one had a complete lockup at the rear, it would be a lot better, like my Camry. Lock it up for snow or slippery conditions, disengage for normal driving. I know if my Camry is locked you can feel resistance in the drivetrain especially when turning sharp at low speed. But like I said the lockup i...
Hi group, today we had 14" of wet snow. My AWD Vibe didn't let me down, took several runs up my long driveway but made it up and onto the road which was not plowed.Snow was packed in the driving lights.Just got to thinking does anyone make a positive lockup kit for the AWD eliminating the visco...
Hi I'm installing the same speakers in my 05 Vibe, just wondering what the thickness of the stacked adaptors was?? How thick was the piece of foam you used when it was compressed? Thanks in advanceI also just installed a JVC KW-810 DD HU love the colors!!!UPDATE: well I installed the Polk db651's in ...
I have a sgII and was wondering if anyone has gotten the auto trans oil temp to work or even if it can be enabled??Also when coasting down hills it reads 9999 for MPG the old SG I used to go up to 300 mpg...........but I think I saw a fix for that in another group 05 Vibe AWD and my mileage was clos...
I've been trying to find out if the X Guage update includes automatic transmission oil temperature, If it would give me that I would upgrade, I've emailed scanguage , no answers, their specs on the website are not clear to me, next step is the Matrix forums.....
I consistently get 32 mpg with my 05 AWD ........70% highway but some long steep hills, running about 60 mph tops. I get 590-600 km on a tank. I use my scanguage II quite regularly.I do notice when I pull my utility trailer though it drops to 28 mpg. I find normal accelerating and city I run 10-25 m...
It was a toss up for me between the HHR and the Vibe, the HHR is smoother, quieter, and has more room, but I didn't like where the window switches are and it didn't come in AWD, if the HHR had awd I'd have one now.
Just hauled a yard of topsoil in my utility trailer, it alone weighs 750#, pulled it OK, but we live in hilly terrain, 2nd gear in the auto, up short hills, specs are 1500# (which I could never understand), I'm guessing my total trailer weight was 2500-3000#, took the backroads, handled well at 30mp...
as insurance works...the people who had stuff stolen, were most likely paid off by the insurance companies. The new stuff that was probably better than what they had..........
Your not too far off for only 5000K on it, give it another 5-8000K for breakin.Mine works out to 8.2.......for the AWD I'm fairly happy with that. A bit more torque would be nice though.
last tank, 05 AWD .....34.45 MPG (imp) (28.7 us)......about 362 miles, I use the scanguage II quite a bit, for driving. I use this calculator as well as an other one, for calculating my mileage.http://www.tdiclub.com/misc/conversions.html
I've had mine up to 325 MPG coasting downhill @ about 65 I have mine velcroed atop the steering wheel plastic housing, just a little hard to hit the trip reset button on the dash.......
Heres the way I look at it, in the auto you actually have 5 speeds, the torque convertor is either locked up or in partial lockup condition, as well as the 3 "mechanical" gear ratio's in the tranny...........I found this from a post in alt.toyota.........."Overdrive is just 4th gear. ...
I wonder if the "older" neighbors, mowing the lawn @ 6AM , and airhorns@5AM, might be trying to say something. You will find as you get older, that different things tend to bother you. I was a kid once too, a set of Fentons on a 235 inline in a 40 chevy coupe were music to my ears , straig...
There obviously is another side to this story. Lets say I'm the guy in the window, first you could assume he has hyper sensitive hearing, many people do, including me, I can hear a mosquito fart at 25 feet.......I retired to a nice little village, on 2 1/2 acres, new house, basically in the forest, ...
Found this during a search on this topic......Criticisms of catalytic convertersCatalytic converters have proven to be reliable devices and have been successful in reducing noxious tailpipe emissions. However, they may have some adverse environmental impacts in use: * The requirement for a rich burn...
I hear you, I don't rely on the cliker to auto shutoff the nozzle, I fill the tank to the brim everytime, that way I know for sure I have the same amount everytime. I will compare my manual calculations with the scanguage, but I think the guage is off a bit right now. This will be my fourth tankfull...
I recently installed a scan guage II in my Vibe, heres some initial observationsAt idle, TPS is 11%At idle you are consuming .2GPH of fuelIn gear or out doesn't matterAs I was taught years ago....drive like you have an egg between your foot and the throttle pedal does make a difference, especially a...
I bought one for a Matrix, installed but never used, 1 1/4" receiver, my bolt holes on my Vibe AWD were 12mmx1.25, hitch works great, you need an adaptor to hook up your trailer wiring.Evidently the Matrix adaptor is NOT the same. I hauled a yard of topsoil the other day and the trailer itself ...
Do a wet and dry compression test. Pull all the plugs, do a dry test on all the cylinders, record the readings. Then squirt a couple of shots of oil when doing each cylinder and record the results for each test. If the compression rises by more than 10-15 PSI when wet, its a good chance its the ring...
My 05 AWD is getting 32 mpg (imp) thats about 27 US, mixed, city-hwy ......gas here is $5.60..... you read right......... $5.60 per imp gallon........!!
I love my racks, and the factory GM crossbars, speaking of which, does anyone know how to adjust the crossbars front to back. I got the keys cut (as I bought my Vibe used and the keys were lost) , you turn the end knobs half a turn, and then you pull out a long 3/16" square shaft,(about 9"...
Great photos,!!I ran my plug under the spare tire and out one of the rubber grommets, just personal preference.I sliced the center of the grommet and squeezed the 4 plug through it.
My 05 Vibe had 12MM x1.25 bolts.......odd........and torque was 65 ft lbs as per the Toyota instructions, yup I got a deal on a complete Matrix hitch, fit my AWD perfect, There was a lot of undercoating junk in the threads so I ran a tap through them first, never seized the bolts and torqued to 65 f...
2005 AWD my second tank 32 mpg (imp), very consistent, if my third is the same , I think I will try the acetone theory as I think I would have a pretty good base to go on.
New by-law in Vancouver BC, that you cannot idle for more than three minutes. Engines must be turned off, whether thay can police this is another matter, are they going to have a 1000 by-law officers watching and timing people for the 3 minute limit???The laws have gone awry!!!!!
well.... if I fill it to the top of the neck -everytime- then I know almost -exactly- how much fuel i've used on that fuel run. If one relies on when the nozzle klicks off, that can vary from nozzle to nozzle and pump to pump. Thats what I was getting at. So if I fill exactly to the same level each ...
I only use the OD for highway driving, My Maxima is OD default to off, I just feel more comfortable this way, if your doing a lot of city driving it only seems sensible (to me) to have the OD off when you start the car and go.........
I just did a fill up today on my 2005 AWD, filled to the top of the neck, I did 560 km or 348 miles on 49 litres or 10.7 imp gallons, that works out to 32.5 imp MPG. As a note I was a hair under 1/4 tank left and the low level light had not come on. This is city -hwy combined. Also the specs say my t...
