Re: The Official "What's Your Gas Mileage?" Thread

Driving conservatively is the key to getting better gas mileage. I do 55 mph on the highway/interstate (unless the speed limit is over 55 mph) and I keep my RPMs under 3000 when accelerating at all times (unless it's absolutely necessary to accelerate faster). Under 3000?! Holy cow is that hard to ...

Re: Manual or Automatic Transmission. Which do you prefer?

I totally prefer manual. Even convinced my hubby to get a manual Tacoma... I told him it wouldn't be a "real" truck unless it was stick! He has since admitted that I can drive it better than he does. Might have something to do with the fact that I have always owned a manual! I learne...

Re: Refinish Restorer - For all the Plastic Cladding its ama

My dad had a Honda Element and he swore by Mother's Back-to-Black... no streaking, etc. It was easy to find a few years ago, but I haven't had the need for a plastic restorer lately. Maybe try that if you can't find the RR? Anyone have any positives or negatives on Mother's? I need to find something...

Re: Any fruit/vegetable gardeners?

Sounds like your plants are in pots... try putting a bowl or pan or tray under them to give them access to extra water, like a reserve. Or next time, use bigger pots! But once you put them in the ground, you should be in better shape. I heard somewhere that it's best to water gardens at night (I do)...

Just turned over the soil here in northern Ohio last week. Will add the winter's compost and till it up the weekend before Memorial Day. Can't plant outside up here til then or things tend to get frosted. I always have rhubarb, tomatoes, peppers, and green beans. Last year I did cabbage. Never. Agai...

Re: The Official "What's Your Gas Mileage?" Thread

'07 manual... just how I got it. I drive a consistant route to well, everywhere! 90% of my trips are curvy roads at 45mph about 50% of the time and city driving 50%. Just like a few others, I do the math every time I fill up but don't keep a log of it. I generally average about 32mpg. The worst mile...

Ok, so now that the weather has broke and I'm running around town with all the windows open... I caught wind of a "rattle". Oh joy. I hear it most at idle and it gets faster as I accelerate through the gears, until I can't hear it due to road noise. The sound I hear is close to what anothe...
