I use Amsoil's EAO10, which is the GT size and run it thru 2 oil changes before installing a new one.My average oil change is 4-5K miles twice a year and use Pennzoil Platnum.
I put on a set of Goodyear Comfort Treds about a year ago. Also, went up a size to 205/60/16. Really like how the car rides, is quiet and ok in light snow too.My mileage on the Interstate, per the odometer, was unchanged, which results in a 3% gain.
This is one of the first things I check when buying a new car. Must say I've never had this problem but,When I got my 05 Vibe, while checking the lug wrench I found 3 loose nuts on one wheel. ARRrGGGGG.Called the salesman, told what I found & got laughed at. Needless to say the next 3 cars I bou...
Does anyone have this option in their Vibe?I'm loooking at doing this on an 08, if it's still availble, to possibly obtain a bit more comfort.Guess I'm curious how much better they are for long trips etc.TIA for any comments.
Looks like you're from Ct? If true you should be ok for a couple months as long as you don't drive hard.If you're concerned just dump the oil and refill. Leave the filter on or dump it put it back on if you only have a few hundred miles on it.
Before buying my Vibe I had the opportunity of several test drives. When I drove the 16" versus 17" wheel I felt the difference at once.Since the purchase I've replaced the junk contis with Good Year comfort treds plus went up one size from std. Now it's night and day difference. Some may n...
There is a minor difference between mileage with dino versus synthetic oil. However, in many cases the difference is very minor if even noticeable.Much has to do with air/road temperature, long versus short trips etc.In my case my driving is almost all highway and usually in warmer weather. I've see...
Using Mobil one 5W-30 with the pure one GT filter #PL14477.Next oil change will be with the Amsoil filter and Amsoil 0W-30.No grease fittings and no engine flushing is needed when changing over to synthetics. Many, including my self, suggest to not do a full mileage extension on the first synthetic o...
No loss in mileage with my comfort treds. Change was made at 13K miles.Per the handling again little difference with "normal" driving but the ride is better. Performance is not my kick any more, been there done that.
I'm running 205/60-16 Good Year Comfort Treds on an 05 base W/Auto. After 2,000 miles with the new tires I see no noticable difference other than a better ride over the stock tire.Mileage "per the odomoter" is the same after the switch. FWIW 90% of my driving is in mostly flat areas.
Have seen several discussions on various sites about poor tire wear.My owners manual says to rotate front to rear keeping tires on the same side. Perhaps there are some differences but my base 05 did not come with directional tires.I've recently put on a set of Good Year comfort treds, which made a ...
Just got back from a 10 mile drive on new 205/60-16 comfort treds. Don't know how much the oversize effects the ride if any but Gotta' admit this Vibe is a totally different car.
If the Corolla was peppy enough than power shouldn't be much of a concern since the power plants are similar and the weight difference is minor. The accelaration has only been an issue for me a couple times with short on ramps in 65 MHP zones and nothing I couldn't tolerate as it'll get to 55 fairly...
Had an "intermittent" hot start problem with my 05 2 WD/Auto after about 1K miles. Original dealer had no clue. Went to another dealer and he told me about the bulletin on the PCM.After getting a replacement PCM I've had no issues with warm or hot start & mileage remained in the mid 30...
Have a 2005 base W/Auto. Great little car. Gets a consistent 35-38 highway at a steady 65 MPH with 13K miles.Am considering dumping the junk Continentals for a set of Goodyear comfort treds. Has anyone tried them on this car?Am also thinking the ride might improve slightly more if I go to 205/60-16 ...
