I use Amsoil's EAO10, which is the GT size and run it thru 2 oil changes before installing a new one.My average oil change is 4-5K miles twice a year and use Pennzoil Platnum.

I put on a set of Goodyear Comfort Treds about a year ago. Also, went up a size to 205/60/16. Really like how the car rides, is quiet and ok in light snow too.My mileage on the Interstate, per the odometer, was unchanged, which results in a 3% gain.

Made a 2,500 mile run to the midwest and back. Averaged 37.5 MPG with average speed of 65 and 2 tanks of ethanol mix included.

Having worked on small engines for 30+ years, if you want to use a multi-vis oil I'd go with 10W-30.Synthetics should not be a problem.

Looks like you're from Ct? If true you should be ok for a couple months as long as you don't drive hard.If you're concerned just dump the oil and refill. Leave the filter on or dump it put it back on if you only have a few hundred miles on it.

No loss in mileage with my comfort treds. Change was made at 13K miles.Per the handling again little difference with "normal" driving but the ride is better. Performance is not my kick any more, been there done that.

I'm running 205/60-16 Good Year Comfort Treds on an 05 base W/Auto. After 2,000 miles with the new tires I see no noticable difference other than a better ride over the stock tire.Mileage "per the odomoter" is the same after the switch. FWIW 90% of my driving is in mostly flat areas.

Just got back from a 10 mile drive on new 205/60-16 comfort treds. Don't know how much the oversize effects the ride if any but Gotta' admit this Vibe is a totally different car.

If the Corolla was peppy enough than power shouldn't be much of a concern since the power plants are similar and the weight difference is minor. Have a 2005 base W/Auto. Great little car. Gets a consistent 35-38 highway at a steady 65 MPH with 13K miles.Am considering dumping the junk Continentals for a set of Goodyear comfort treds. Has anyone tried them on this car?Am also thinking the ride might improve slightly more if I go to 205/60-16 ...
