My 05 Vibe GT with 60k miles has been doing this for the last 5k miles and seems to be getting worse. I hear the squeak when going over speed bumps, driving in a low gear near barriers and whenever coming to a stop. I know it's not suspension related or brake related because I replaced my rotors and...
16x7 Enkei Performance EDR-9, Flat Black finish with 205/55/16 Dunlop WinterSport 3D performance winter tires. These will be my Winter only wheels/tires. Going to upgrade to 17's or 18's for the rest of the year. These look and handle perfect.
Had Dunlop Wintersport M3's for 3 seasons, loved them. They still have one season left on them but I ripped a sidewall on a high speed impact to a curb and bought a new full set of Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds (don't make M3s any more). They have been great so far. Haven't got stuck yet in New England sno...
Nice rack.I throw a pair of 17 foot kayaks on Thule bars on the factory side rack rails. I'll have to look for a front bar setup that mounts to the gutters like you have there as it would be a great improvement from holding the kayak bulkheads only 3 feet apart.
Paid off the 05 Vibe GT today...bought as new left over and 34 months later she is all mine! WOOT!Since no more payments the extra money burning holes in my pockets have been used to buy Justin's unichip, then there's the new clutch and flywheel that are needed ASAP, then it's time for the DD intake...
I wouldn't touch the clutch or throw out bearing unless your clutch starts slipping, you have trouble with clutch engagement or you start hearing the bearing squeal. If you replace the flywheel and clutch you are looking at around $500 - $700 in parts. Unless you go with a lighter aluminum flywheel ...
I'll be replacing the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and flywheel on my 05 GT with 42k miles in a couple of weeks. I bought a 4x4 ATV and aluminum trailer and have been towing an 1100 lb load up to 500 miles per weekend roundtrip once a month over the last year and it's taking it's toll n...
Sounds like the people having rust problems are all in NY. I'm not blaming the manufacturer but I know I have problems with my older vehicles if I don't prep them before the snow flies. I wash and wax all year, including winter and spray a mix of bar and chain oil and diesel on the chassis, axle hou...
I may ask my brother if I can pop a door panel off one of the power lock Vibes sitting in the dealer lot where he works to see where a factory actuator is mounted. I ordered the 4 door kit with the best Hornet (Directed) alarm system and keyless entry that A1electric had available and it will be her...
Any updates on adding power door locks?I am going to order a kit from A1electronics.com that comes with a keyless entry remote, that way I may be able to get by without having to install door switches. I'm sure the kit's prefered wiring method will have to change for that to work properly though.Wha...
Was there an exhaust hanger there that broke off at a weld? Seems odd that stainless steel would wear away like that. I noticed that my Magnaflow mid-pipe rouged very fast compared to the stock stainless pipes after fewer miles. I wonder what grade stainless and from what country is used.
I'm liking that TransAm. The B-pillar resembles the lates 70's-early 90's T/A's to a T. One look at that thing without badging sitting in the midle of a parking lot in South Korea and you would know it is the next T/A. GM will eventually get their act together and bring back the T/A along with the C...
This post is for GT/XRS exhaust clips and comments only. Please do not post if you are only posting to say your Base/XR/supercharger sounds better because it doesn't. I will accept posts of your Base/XR exhaust only if there is clearly a GT/XRS smoking your Base/XR in the background.*All video/sound...
I have the Weathertechs and love them. They don't stick out nearly as far as the stick on type and have a better finish IMO. I bought them direct from Weathertech. The fronts just pop into the window channel and the rears do the same but with adhesive also to help keep them from dropping out when yo...
Bad idea IMO. You will restrict air flow to the radiator and will be blocking the beams with the grilles. As far as I know, the KC daylighters are a flood and not driving beam.
I don't understand why you added seafoam to fix a crunchy / sandy noise in the engine. I would take that thing straight to the dealer, warranty or no warranty or pull things apart, swap plugs and see if the noise still occured, especially if getting misfiring codes.
Nice install! When I first installed mine I was at the local Autozone picking up some Jeep parts and some loiterers were talking about how my Vibe with the chrome grille is the Turbo version.First, it's not chrome it's machined/brushed aluminum and second a cold air intake doesn't sound anything liek...
I wouldn'd advise doing that unless you want to crush your spine in an accident. The shoulder harness needs to be mounted level or a few degrees above your shoulders.
My 05 doesn't have constant power to the center console outlet either.I mounted my SIRIUS PNR2 tuner under the passenger seat. There isn't much room inside the dash for anything that large, nevermind keeping it upright to be cooled properly.
I have the TWM short shifter. From what I've heard it's better than the TRD. I installed the TWM a few weeks after I purchased my GT and don't remember noticing quite an improvement. The stock shifter is squishy due to the plastic shifter frame and rubber bushings. I mounted the TWM steel frame to t...
Keep them all. W/o the company car you'd be paying for two vehicles anyway right? I love my Vibe GT but on the other hand I can't stand to drive only it for evena week straight to work each day. I don't have another car though, just big Jeeps. If the cars are all paid for and you're only paying insu...
I drove from Niagara falls, north to Toronto and back home to MA through the Adirondacks and Green mountains totalling 14 hrs last weekend and agree that the Vibe seats are the most uncofortable seats ever. I'm 5'7" and 170 lbs also and my back and legs were hurting part of the time but more af...
I'm at about $2,600 with snow tires, wind deflectors, springs, strut tower bar, swaybar, exhaust, CAI, grille, headlights, stereo headunit, speakers, satelite radio and ipod adapter.Next mod is electric door actuators or limited slip.
Did you use just the poly bushings from the Rancho shocks or did you also use steel bushings/sleeves inside the poly bushings? If not, you may want to. Just make them 1mm shoter than the poly bushing to allow some give.
I installed the Progress rear swaybar at the same time I installed Eibach Sportline springs and a DC Sports strut tower bar. The difference with all three items was like night and day compared to stock. You won't be dissapointed with changing to lowering springs. They are by far one of the cheapest ...
I had this discussion two nights ago with the sales manager where I purchase my new snow tires. I told the manager the wheel speed sensors were used and he didn't believe me. Sure enough, there were no RF sensors as part of the valves stems so he quickly clicked a link on his computer and within sec...
I cancelled the order on the Dunlop Wintersport 3D's as they weren't actually in stock. Since I'm headed up to Niagagra Falls and Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal for Thanksgiving I decided to go for a set of Dunlop Wintersport M3's at the local Tire Warehouse. $99 / tire in 205/55/R16 H91 size, cheaper...
Installation Update:The head unit has been installed for over a month and installed the satelite tuner and iPod adapter a couple of weeks ago. Sirius tuner & iPod adapter under the passenger front seat Hands-free microphone ScreensiPod Display Format Screens Background Animations Vehicle Dynamic...
I just ordered a set of 205/55/R16 Dunlop Wintersport 3D's. Too many snow tires on the market with good reviews, tough decision. Anything is beeter than Goodyear RS-A's.
My 05 GT had a loud tick after adding an Injen CAI. I cut up some rubber and made an isolator to mount the culprit valve to as it was hard monted to one of the factory airbox holes and brackets before. I still get a slight tick, but not nearly as noticable.
My 05 doesn't have a screw, or if it does I don't need to remove it. I haven't changed the cabing filter, only have 6,000 miles, but have sent many wires back there. I open the glove box, pull up and out on it, then pull the left side out, then tilt the assembly down and pull the back end of the dam...
3 band equalizers don't do it for me. Another reason to go to an aftermarket head unit. But again, a $150 HU isn't going to be much different from a stock one.
Last I heard the factory head unit didn't come with a 24bit DAC. Sure it may be decent compared to some lower end aftermarket head units but that doesn't mean much. Being made by Fujitso Ten doesn't mean much either, if it even is.
I paid $400 at EBTelectronicts.comThey are an authorized Pioneer Premier dealer. I wouldn't buy one anywhere you would have trouble using Pioneer's warranty. The Premier has a two year warranty where the Pioneer has 1 year.I don't have an iPOD or any other portable player but installed the PNR2 SIRI...
$31 for the two adapters and $30 for the switch and $30 for an antenna...the stuff gets expensive. I posted up the new Pioneer Premier head unit I just purchased and will be switching from the starmate to the head unit. And I just ordered another starmate for my girlfriend for free after buying a ho...
