Cougar Vibe's '05 (Original Owner), Long Overdue Visit/Update.

Haven't been here in a long while, but I was detailing my engine yesterday and thought about how my OEM battery is still going strong after 11 years. That prompted me to drop in... My Vibe is a '05 AWD, Moonstone Grey w/Moon & Tunes; currently 108,000 miles on the odometer. Over eleven years of ...

Re: How many miles on your Vibes?

Well I haven't been on GenVibe in a long time, but I still have my '05 AWD (original owner). The odometer reads 86,668 now, but it's mainly pulling light duty these days (<50 miles/week, more once the snow flies). Other than regular oil changes, the only maintenance I've had to do is new tires (thos...

My '05 AWD has 72K miles on it and the rubber coating is coming off the radio buttons.

I'm pretty much devastated w/this obvious lack of quality. Keeps me up at night...thinking about what else might go wrong over the next ~75,000 miles.

People always bagged on these cars, but they really were comfortable and reliable (for 80's vehicles). That's normally correct, but in this case there was no sump capacity change to the 1ZZFE engine going into '06 and beyond. Toyota just decided to "increase" the oil volume by moving the fill marks up on the dip stick. Thus, what should be good for the '06+ 1ZZFE should be good for the '05 ...
