Garrets are easy to rebuild, 150 bucks for the kit and I have done two of those. Mitsubishis on the other hand are much harder. My guess form the garrets Ive rebuilt is your dumping oil into the intake side. Pull the intake boot and check for side- to-side play on the shaft.

My GTO has an immobilizer in the ignition, you have to keep one of the keys in the car in a box and have an immobilizer unit.

The old style RX7's and many other RWD imports are using the LS1 with much success over thier turbo 4cyl counterparts, I will try to find the link of the 2nd gen rx7 LS2 running 550 RWHP, the thing is insane.

Re: (northvibe)

The vibe already comes in AWD, so just expand on the stock rear drive shaft and do a RWD conversion. Then stuff an LS1 in it. With a stock LS1 it would be in the 12's in the quarter, and with some basic upgrades you would easily break into the 11's.

Did you get 3500 from the insurance company, if so you should just trade for a new one. In the past I have done it with cars, trade the car and the insurance check for a new car, in this case one of the same model.

It really has nothing to do with age, it has to do with how open someone is to change. I am sure that technology will keep on bringing better and more complex things, whether or not we learn and keep up with it depends soley on willingness to change.
