Re: Anyone using PEAK long life anti-freeze?

Prestone Extended Life coolant makes it pretty simple........it says on the front of the jug "Any make, Any model, (mixes with) Any color". I dumped the Dexcrud almost 7 years ago and filled with Prestone. Have done a couple of drain/refills over those 7 years.....replaced top and bottom r...

Everything I've read says P0031 is bank 1 sensor 1, or the upstream A/F ratio sensor. Anyone have luck with a auto parts store replacement upstream O2 (O'reilly, Autozone, NAPA, etc)? How do u tell which one is the correct upstream O2? Local GM stealer, ah, dealership wants $247 for the part. Local Toyota house can't look it up without a Toyota VIN. I've got a CEL and code P0031.

So, how is one supposed to tell if the stealer, ah, dealer installed the correct PCM? The old/original PCM was part #89661-01133 and the 9th thru 12th digit of the Lot #5169....both numbers indicating "replace PCM". The new/replacement PCM just installed by the dealer is part #89661-02K43,...

The Vibe engine is somewhat similar to a number of DOHC motorcycle engines. It uses "shims" to adjust and set proper valve clearance. Most people don't understand a DOHC, shim adjusted, mechanical valve train. Slappy (noisy) valves are happy valves, within factory spec of course. What wear...

Re: Can I Put 225x60x16 Tires On My 06 Vibe? (bwflorida)

225/60/16 is 7% taller than stock. No more than 3% taller is recommended. If you're looking to go with a wider tire (225), go with the 225/50/16. It's diameter is virtually identical to the stock 205/55/16. This way there's no effect/change to the speedo and no extra load on the engine, that a talle...

Not sure what you're trying to accomplish but the Vibe engine uses COPs (coil on plug - not coil packs) which eliminate the spark plug wires. This is somewhat different from the coil packs used on a GM LS motor that still use spark plug wires.

Hard to tell from the video but the tapping noise sounds too fast/rapid for a bottom end knock, unless the engine is idling fast. Sure it's not coming from the top? That engine has a mechanical valve train and uses shims to adjust valve clearance. Good luck....keep us posted.
