2009 Pontiac Vibe battery hold down clamp

Can anyone tell me if this is the correct battery hold down clamp for a 2009 Pontiac vibe 1.8l. It looks identical. Can't find a GM part # so going off off Toyotas number. My original is rusted through and corroded and I'm going to replace my battery soon. https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyota-74404...

Boot Cover

2009 Pontiac Vibe 1.8L I was replacing push pins on my front wheel wells and underneath the bumper (replaced about 8 that were super loose and also had about 8 that were missing. Much quieter ride now and no noise from underneath my car. Anyways, while doing that I noticed on my drivers side the CV ...

Re: Starter grinds when cold start

Thanks for the info. I'll see if I can find a Denso remanufactured one. I saw a video on-line on how to swap a 09 Pontiac Vibe starter out. Although that was a 2.4 and mine is a 1.8 so hopefully there is not that much of a difference.

I took it to the Toyota dealer in town and they put the 3 missing pieces on. No charge. Don't know what the part numbers were as they just put them on.

Re: Starter grinds when cold start

Apologies to dig up this post. My 2009 Vibe 1.8L is doing this as well. Mostly on cold days at startup but occasionally when it's warm. Happens 3-4 times a month (completely random). Really annoying. Any advice on a reliable replacement starter? Based on a post here it sounds like replacing with ano...

Re: 2009 Pontiac Vibe Transmission Drain

Yes, I had someone put in orange coolant with Dexcool one time. Got that out and put Toyota pink in. After that I put a label on the coolant reservoir do not use anything but Toyota pink. No Dexcool! I'll buy a case of ATF WS. Do you think it's wise to pick up some transmission crush washers for the...

Re: 2009 Pontiac Vibe Transmission Drain

I thought I remember reading somewhere that the manual was wrong. My manual (the original one) says T-IV fluid, but I just checked the dipstick and it saw WS on it. So I'm assuming I should use the WS fluid?

2009 Pontiac Vibe Transmission Drain

Hi, I just crossed the 133k on my 2009 Pontiac Vibe 1.8L and have never changed the transmission fluid. I don’t have any major issues with the transmission, but there are some occasional rougher shifts (completely random) especially the colder it gets. The Toyota dealer wanted $299 for transmission ...

Picture of the reservoir with missing screw/bolt. The bolt attached to the bottom holding the reservoir in place has a number 6 on the head.

Clips and Screw

Question: I had some work done on my engine and I noticed that the coolant reservoir is missing a screw and the windshield clips on the left and right that keep it from moving around are missing. Do you know what part numbers these are or something that would work if they are not available that I ca...

Re: Windshield Wipers not working

Thanks for the info. I had some engine work done at a Toyota dealer and they didn't attach it fully. I stopped in today and they took care of it by removing the windshield molding, plugging it back in, and reattaching the molding. Works as normal now. Thanks for your help everyone!

Re: Windshield Wipers not working

Thank you. I popped the hood and noticed a cable dangling. I've changed the air filter before and never noticed this. Could this be part of the problem? I can't see anywhere to connect it?

Re: Windshield Wipers not working

I'm not very familiar with the internal workings. Where can I find the fuse/fuse box and identify which fuse it may be? I'm assuming the rear and front would be on a separate fuse it that's what is was since the rear is working. If not that, where do I access the area where the connector is with the...

Windshield Wipers not working

2009 Pontiac Vibe 1.8L I went to use my windshield wiper blades today and they moved a tiny bit and then stopped. It's like they were trying, but couldn't move hardly at all. The fluid squirts out fine onto the windshield,, but the front has no movement from the wipers. Now when trying to turn the f...

Re: Engine noise on startup

What would be a good way to go about fixing this since it happens randomly? I found a youtube video and this appears to be similar to what my vibe does.

Engine noise on startup

2009 Pontiac Vibe 1.8l I have a loud grinding sound like metal on metal on when starting my car up. Lasts about 1-2 seconds. Usually on a cold start. Notice it in the morning when going to work and getting off work. It happens off an on randomly, not every day, but seems to be more frequent now. Did...

Re: Coolant - 2009 Pontiac Vibe

Thank you for the info. I twisted the radiator cap in and could see some in there. Not sure how to tell if it needs more. I dipped a piece of paper towel in it and it is a pinkish colors (assuming this is normal). The tiny bit in the reservoir tank that I can see is pink as well. Can I just buy what...

Coolant - 2009 Pontiac Vibe

So I had a belt replaced in my 2009 Pontiac Vibe 1.8l because it was screeching loud when on defrost both with AC or heat. This was about a week ago. When popping my hood today I noticed the coolant is below low in my reservoir tank. I don't have any leaks that I'm aware of, but assume I will want t...
