Re: Really poor gas mileage. Looking for help.

The 03 GM service manual lists the following things to check for poor gas mileage: Preliminary Checks - Check the air cleaner element for dirt or restrictions - Visually and physically check the vacuum hoses for splits, kinks, and proper connections - Check the owner's driving habits for any of the...

Really poor gas mileage. Looking for help.

My Vibe became my daily driver and have recently noticed that it's getting really poor gas mileage. I just looked at the spark plugs and they don't look that bad. I will change that out anyways along with new coil packs. Where else should I be looking to finding out what is causing my poor mpg? BTW ...

Hello all. I'm back again. I've haven't been on here much as I've gone though a difficult time late last year. Anyways it looks like this place is still going. Stay safe and well during this pandemic problem this world is currently dealing with.

It does have a sunroof with a map light next to the sunroof buttons. That's the Moon part of Moon & Tunes. Look in your cargo area on the passenger side for a bulge with a speaker on it- that's a subwoofer for the Tunes part. There's also an amplifier under the passenger seat. https://farm4.sta...

Re: What is an easy to use picture hosting site?

You could always use another forum's site if you belong to more than one (almost all of us do). Since cardomain.com changed their format some 5 years ago or so, I lost several pics that were uploaded there. That's what I did. Wow I forgot about cardomain! I use to use that site years ago (10+ years).

my garage

I can now officially make my garage thread. I bought this 2003 awd Vibe on July 19th of 2019. I mainly bought it as a back up ride. When I bought this it had over 194,000 miles on it and has been maintained fairly well. First major repair that had to be done was replace the super noisy passenger rea...

Re: Oil filter

I use this filter and Mobile-1 0W-30 oil in all three Vibes. I personally won't run the 0- series oils in my Vibe, and I'm not sure I like my wife's Mazda using them. We're in Houston, and considering the temperature is very rarely below freezing - and often into the 100's - extremely low weight oi...

I bought one at the local Toyota dealership as I didn't want to wait for amazon. What is the difference between the filters 90915-YZZF1, 90915-YZZF2 and 90915-YZZF3?

Re: Front interior lights

If you got the moon&tunes package, the front map light is built into the sunroof controls. If you didn't, then the interior rear view mirror has two manual map lights built into the bottom of the mirror. Neither variant is tied to the dome/door ajar lights. Mine has a sunroof and I hooked up a ...

Oil filter

I know these first gen Vibes have a Toyota engine. When I buy car parts, I try and buy OEM when I can. When I was searching on amazon, I used a Matrix and this part number came up 90915-YZZF2, is this right oil filter? It wanted me to provide more info of the Matrix and I clicked on base but didn't ...

Your link isn't working. Gosh I forgot to check on amazon, oh well. The ones I bought from the link I provided doesn't have the chrome cap which I was looking for. I find it ridiculous that parts store wants $10 per lug nut. I hate to see what the dealership would charge.

I hate how there isn't any front interior lights when you open the doors. So the only interior lights is the dome light for the rear seating area and the cargo light? Has anyone added in other interior lights to come on when you open the doors?

I can't see how the slight length difference could matter in a differential drain plug. Its job is just to not leak. That's what I was guessing. When I was looking a bit closer over my Vibe, I noticed that both the rear diff drain and fill plugs were super rusty. When you say "super rusty"...

I just changed my reverse lights and figured I'd add to this old thread just in case someone else searches for this info. It's really easy if you remove the light fixture. To do this, use a long screwdriver (about 11" including the handle). When you look up at the fixture from underneath the c...

don't want to spend a fortune for them (one parts store I stopped at was only pulling up the standard acorn lug nuts. Another parts store was able to find the correct ones but at $10 a piece, I laughed and walked out the door)you can buy them from here for a much more affordable price.

When I was looking a bit closer over my Vibe, I noticed that both the rear diff drain and fill plugs were super rusty. Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm absolutely astonished that it's had _that_ much work done on it. Especially the crankshaft seal (front? It doesn't have a front seal. It's a transaxle engine), and the transfer case rear output seal. Mind you, I've never laid hands on an AWD. There are several fo...

Ah I see. Next question, how would you wire up the bi-xenon to active the shudder? Also I'm guessing that you need to disable the DRL when upgrading to projectors? Great write up but how exactly is the HID projector installed? Eventually I will buy new headlight assemblies as my current headlights have cloudy lenses and I will also buy HID projectors to install because halogen lights just plain suck! The HID projectors I plan on buying are bi-xenon from here.

Hello all. New Vibe owner here.

I recently bought a 03 awd Vibe with 194,xxx miles. It's black with black interior. I bought it as a backup vehicle. It's in decent shape. The previous owner has taken care of fairly well. I haven't had a chance yet to look it over closely but hopefully I'll get a chance to this weekend.
