Re: Rear wiper motor removal

Thanks for the attachment, joatman. I was pretty gentle on the tightness of the packing nut....didn't torque it as I didn't see this until now :D I used a considerable amount of silicone grease on the outside of the shaft and inside diameter of the bushing/grommet before inserting the wiper motor th...

Re: Rear wiper motor removal

Well, I managed to get it off. Definitely need to use a 6-point deep socket to remove it. Pretty well wiped the threads off of the wiper motor though. Too bad, because I removed the shaft, cleaned it up, lubed, and put it back together. Probably would have been good for several more years if the thr...

Rear wiper motor removal

Has anyone broken the hatch glass when removing the wiper motor? The large nut on the shaft is exposed (wiper arm removed) and I thoroughly cleaned around the nut/shaft and soaked it well with Deep Creep. I have put what I think to be quite a bit of force, but am afraid that the glass may crack arou...

Re: Hard to start and poor throttle response

Well......it was definitely fuel related! I pulled out 1 injector to see what kind of pressure was there, as I have no pressure gauge set-up. I was surprised to not even get the slightest squirt of fuel as I removed the injector....and the fuel rail wasn't even full. I popped the injector back in an...

Hard to start and poor throttle response

My daughter's 06 had an issue this morning. It was hard to start, and when running the idle was alright, but when you blipped the throttle it stumbled before it would increase. It also stalled while attempting to drive. There wasn't a code initally, but eventually PO171 (bank 1 lean) came in. I swap...

I don't know how accurate the tachometer may be during cranking.....but I did note that it didn't go above 250 or so. I wanted to check for spark initially.....but to be honest I was paranoid about damaging a coil in the process.

Re: 2006 No Start

Well, replacing the crankshaft sensor didn't make a difference. The resistance of the new sensor was even greater than the original...over 3k ohms. Cranking of the engine seemed a bit sluggish so I thought I'd swap out the starter from my other Vibe. It fired right up! Both cars still had their orig...

Thank you very much for those links jolt. I went with your instinct and just checked the sensor.....2520 ohms....so that appears to be the issue. It was a bit of a pain to get to though. As the title suggests, my daughter's 06 is not starting. It was hard-starting for a little while (she didn't tell me about this until recently). It cranks over fine. Immediately I thought of the fuel pump as apparently there has been an issue with fuel pump pressure on these. It has over 250k km on ...

I was wondering what kind of interval would be adequate myself. Personally, I would do it at least as frequently as an automatic transmission filter/fluid change....which I like to do every 50k km. It only takes about 1 litre/quart of fluid to do a good flush and an hour or so of time.
