The Volkswagen Idiot book was the first repair book I bought after getting my first VW. It was simple and helpful.So far, I've had mechanics do all the work on my Vibe. All I've done is install a much louder horn and a few bolt on accessories.Too bad cars are so complicated these day.

It happened again last night. Somebody increased the size of my rear bumper damage with their poor parking skills.This time, the car was still parked behind me. I use my opening rear window all the time when I have the hitch-mounted bike rack on the car. Otherwise I would have to move the bike rack out of the way to open the hatch every time.I give a thumbs down to the 2009 with it's non-opening rear window.

Wow! This IS an old post.I gave up trying to get the factory roof rack bars and went with a Yakima set. I like 'em, but there is some wind noise at high speeds. (75 mph and up)

The horn came with a wiring kit, but I had to buy some extra wiring.I made a mounting bracket. It's just a piece of flat bar stock witha 90 degree bend and some holes drilled in it. I bolted it to an existing hole in a metal support behind the grill.

Better Brakes for a Regular Vibe

My 2005 is just a regular model with an automatic trans and rear drums.The brakes have never seemed that great to me an I would like to improve them.Are there any good aftermarket kits for improving them? Would 4 wheels discs from a Vibe GT or the Matrix be easy to retro-fit?
