Re: Cold Start 'Death Rattle" Advice

Re: Cold Start 'Death Rattle" Advice

well that is the question is it a problem from a mechanical point of view or is it just a discomfort? I have read lots of stuff on this problem and a couple say that if it is not fixed it will break and your engine will be filled with little parts of metal that will ruin the engine and you will have...

Re: Cold Start 'Death Rattle" Advice

my 2009 just started this rattle when it got cold. I tried the starter first still doing it and then changed the oil to a synthetic along with a new filter still not better. wonder how much this would cost at the dealer car only has 85000 miles on it and runs great

Re: 2009 base 1.8l

The noise goes away as soon as the oil pressure builds up after starting the engine. think this might be on track my mechanic friend said take out the synthetic oil and put a 10-30 regular oil in it and...

Re: noise on start when cold

well bought a new starter and put it on and that was not the noise. talked to a friend and he said it was the cam guides pumping up at start and I need a heavy weight oil not synthetic.

2009 base 1.8l

I have a weird question. I had a 2003 vibe back a while ago and I seem to remember when I hit the key to lock the doors the horn would honk like all of the cars do now. Well my vibe when I hit the key it will lock but no noise. am I dreaming or is something not hooked up?
