OH MY GOSH. My "old" age must be catching up. I brought EVERYTHING except the thread knocker spray. I was able to back the o2 out about 1/4-1/2 a turn, then it wouldn't budge. UGH. need to get back and spend a day spraying it every so often so it cracks loose.
Running "rich" air/fuel ratios is defiantly bad for an engine. The excess fuel will wash down the cylinder walls, removing the oil from the upper piston ring. Since the piston ring is always spinning in the piston ring land, the top piston ring groove will wear out because the lubrication...
New upstream o2 sensor should arrive next week. I'll also verify the wire for the down stream and make sure it didn't melt on the exhaust and ground out etc.
Once it doesn't have a CEL, I'll have my sister get it detailed and ready for sale.
My sister has a '10 2.4L however similar issue. THe cel was the downstream sensor, I replaced it, cleared the code, still came back with bad o2. I'm going to replace the up stream sensor now. If that still is bad, I'm wondering if it is a clogged/bad cat, maybe worth checking that. usually you woul...

Bank 1 = driver side. Sensor 1 = first sensor. Bank 2 = passenger side. Sensor 2 = second sensor. So bank 1, sensor 2. would be the downstream o2. You would never get a bank 2 since we only have one exhaust. Can his code reader pull live data from the sensor? If the second sensor has no data,...
holy moly, didn't realize I never posted back up. Shame on me. So I did replace the o2 sensor, I think the downstream one as I was underneath the car. I cleared the code and it came back in a day or two. I will replace the front one, but also check that drain pipe too I suppose that was a TSB. Looki...
So my sisters vibe is throwing CEL P0138 and also has the traction control light on. My BIL scanned the code and it says O2 sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2, which I think is the o2 on the back/under side near the cat aka 2nd o2. I could not find a way to get to it via the inside of the car, but putting the c...
I take it that this did not just happen when she was driving to your house, that it has been acting up for a while. My wife drives our "09 vibe and I have checked into the WS fluid myself. At 54K, the fluid looks new so I have not changed it in her car. From what I have read about the WS spec ...
Anyone know where the drain is ? My sisters 2.4l 2010 has the P0138 code and I was going to replace the rear o2 but looking into what else could be causing it. I also know the O2 metal near the nut cracks open, thus allowing water in.
congrats on selling! Glad you got a 16' renegade. The 16' 9spd transmisison was fixed. 15' and before was bad design and programming. I've been eyeing up that rig since release, but the trailhawk doesn't come in manual.
Update: normal mechanic shop wanted $4k to rebuild w/ 3yr warranty. OR 2500 for installing a used one. Sister got a hold of a cousin who is a mechanic and said he can get a used one installed for $1500. I told them to make sure to find a lower mile one and check the fluid before, change it and insta...

What engine do you have? Most likely it will fit but just to verify......
I think you mean AISIN: http://www.aisinworld.com/products/drivetrain/ There is no lifetime fluid. Even our own blood gets replaced all the time. True, but this WS stuff is HALF of what the old 1st gen vibe trans can do, easily. Yeah, thats the brand of trans, Aisin. Kind of the odd one in the grou...
No one? If you have the base fwd w/ 2.4L engine and an auto 5spd you will need to make sure you verify all the trans parts as the part store messed up my filter/gasket. I can't find the model of the trans, but it is ASIN or ASISN? Trans model: 5 Speed U250E Here is the gasket filter kit ATM 3632409 ...
Hey guys, Been a while, but my sister just drove up to my house and told me the car was acting funny. It wouldn't down shift for going up a hill. I got in the car, started it, went from P to R and it clunk/bang/jolted hard. R to N, D was fine. D going into sport mode and tap shifting 1-5 was fine as...

Hey guys, These were off the steelies I got for snow tires. They did not fit over my lug nuts, so we never used them. That 2004 vibe is long gone. Need to clean these out of the garage. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ram/for/4054812753.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;...
My sister has a 2010 2.4L base fwd vibe. It has the front and rear disc brake package. For a winter wheel setup, will a 15" steelie fit? Tirerack only lists 16" as the smallest. But I know on my MS3, 15" steelie would fit but just barely over the front caliper, but they did not list i...
Hey! How are you crazy vibe owners? I haven't been on in a ....while...mmm oh when the server/look changed. I never activated my account. My sister totaled my 2004, but got a 2010 2.4 base fwd and I found a few 1.8L 1zz base parts in my parents garage to sell. Figured some MN vibers may want :) I'll...

hard and fast shifting is better on automatic I tuned my escape for performance with SCT and it make the shifts hard and quick, but then you get less slipping. So ya give and take. The older escapes auto trans are known to be weak if not taken care of though...hence why I firmed the shift points up.
hahha. I didn't know I was allowed out of MN Well I'm trying to sell Waterworld to make room for a new pin!Just got back from pinball circus in hopkins, mn this past weekend. Good times

I had 2g iphone and 3g. Miss them. Went samsung epic 4g, kept having major issues, got a new one, broke as I left the store. They got me a htc Evo as I did not want another samsung pos again. Well that broke a week after and I'm on my 2nd Evo in a year. My contract should expire when the iphone 5 hi...
I got a ipad 3 16gb wifi. I have had 4 android phones in under a year because they keep breaking. I hate...HATE the android OS. It was all great on paper, then the actual use is pure crappy time for me. I'd rather run a BB or win7 mobile. I've never owned a tablet before, only borrowed an ipad(s). I...
BC is sc'd now!!! man I think it took years of us talking and finally its true! I'm glad you SC'd Brian. Welcome to the boost club if I had the MS3 we could create the boosted wagon mafia
manual or auto HHR SS?Did you get the gm stage 1 kit yet?Same engine as my SS I was thinking of tuning to 350whp...but I'll need new tires again to grip that crap.
This isn't just the stock engine with a turbo. This is fully built up fully forged to handle all the power and awd. Just like the fiesta and focus, not production what so ever.
I had my fwd vibe in Duluth with snow tires and didn't have an issue. I think if you go with a FWD just get snow tires and you'll be set. TC is not as hilly as duluth so you don't have too much to worry about. But awd with snow tires is pretty awesome, have them on my 4x4 escape
My sister had my old 2004 base vibe with stock steelies w/ snow tires. That car was totaled and now she has a 2010 base vibe. Will those snow wheels fit her 2010? I have not looked into it as I'm studying hard for cisco but want to know as it finally snowed in MN.Thanks!
I can't tell from those pics. The outside looks correct :/ People did have them imported. I know a guy that owned the MSF forum when I had my mazda did, $45k to do so..But it isnt unheard of to buy the parts to make it look euro. I googled and you can find the body kit etc. I bet it was a SVT with t...
if you get a mazda 3 get the 2.3l or the speed 3. You'll want that extra umph The MS3 was soooo amazing as a DD I miss it. Fantastic interior, smooth ride, good build quality.
Ive had 2 iphones (2g and a 3g)BB 9700Android samsung epic 4gTried a epic 4g Tried a HTC win 7 phone on sprintso I have some experience. I'm a huge power user. I miss this forum! I was on so many car forums and tuning up my car for racing...then I just stopped. Now I have a pinball addiction...Making a pin cabinet w/ pc and tv's...haha That 2004 vibe was awesome.
