2007-specific transmission pan gasket & filter

Hi all - planning a drain-refill-drive-drain- pan drop-refill of my transmission fluid in the next couple of weeks. I've looked around for info on the correct pan gasket, filter (if any) and plug washer (if any) and can't find 2007-specific info. Anyone out there done this on a 2007 base model know ...

Re: First Vibe oil change - woah tight filter!

That'll happen! When I started changing my own oil again, the prior shop had the filter on so tight I couldn't get it to budge. Tried a socket/wrenches/pliers, nothing worked. Stopped shy of the screwdriver trick - filled it up with oil and drove it the 1/2 mile back to that shop and made them chan...

First Vibe oil change - woah tight filter!

I performed my first oil change on the Vibe yesterday - man alive was that little filter on tight! I bought a filter "socket" that fit the new Purolator filter nice and snug but there was just a tiny bit of play when on the old filter which allowed the socket to round off the filter. I was...

Re: Wooshing sound after installing snow tires

It seems the snow tires may in fact be the culprit. I switched 2 of my all seasons on front and the sound was seemingly lessened and seemed to be coming from the rear (I’m nearly deaf in one ear, so determining directional sound source is difficult). I then went ahead and switched out the other 2 an...

Re: Wooshing sound after installing snow tires

I bet it's the tires and nothing else. It may get a little better once they have done some miles. My guess is that the blocks near the shoulders cause the noise. That's my hope as well, though the sounds does sound more "mechanical" to me than contact-type tire noise I'm used to hearing. ...

Wooshing sound after installing snow tires

So I put snow tires on this weekend and I'm noticing a pronounced wooshing / howling sound coming from what seems like the front end. The sound is related to vehicle speed (not RPM or engine, etc) and is most noticeable at very low speeds when coming to a stop - the sound gets lower in pitch and sou...

Front defrost always turns on the A/C, which often requires a higher idle speed for the extra compressor load. Interesting - thanks for that info. On the 2003-2008 Vibe, disconnecting the battery resets the ECU. Interesting - I noticed today my idle seems to be idling a tick higher...
