Crazy question, I never see anyone talking about replacing the gen 1 rear bushings. Looking around online makes them tough to find and they are always pricey. Do they not fail?
Hey there everyone, I need to replace my front wheel bearing but I don't have a hydraulic press. Can anyone share the easiest way to swap them out? Thank you.
I'm thinking 1zz. I'm wondering why it's not done very often. I'm like it if I was going to do something like this I have a friend who's incredibly mechanically inclined
I have about five of these with the connector, I just cut the wire so I had four or five inches to work with. I'd love to find an actual pinout for each wire to know what they do... Graham kind of helps but I I'm still behind the 8-ball. If I have have them I should use them I figured
Pick-n-Pull leaves entire car out for going to the crusher. Before it heads to the crusher they clear a row and that's probably when they remove the drivetrain is once it's out of the actual yard.
I know these places well, and that's the thing...they don't have storage or removal areas. Even if they did, why this engine over so many others!? So I guess the engines are that popular...which really surprises me. I can understand the GT engine, but not the base.
I have to ask a question about a phenomenon I have noticed the last couple of years. My friend and I go to the auto wrecker while he's in town because to him it is a form of meditation. Let's not going to his mental health. So I've noticed that compared to other cars, the drivetrain from the vibe an...
Can someone post pictures of the modifications to the suspension ? I'd like to have a look at this. And see if there is a better smarter option to use instead of OEM stuff
..this post is 6 years old. Corolla struts do fit, they need some of the holes widened a bit because they use smaller diameter bolts to mount the struts. That's great to hear. Do you know of anyone on here that did the Bilstein or other performance suspension install? I couldn't find someone who di...
It's unfortunate that this topic hasn't been followed up on. so... Koni will do batches of custom suspension kits. what are the differences between our cars and the Corolla struts? Can they be modified? What are the OEM dampening specs between our cars and the the Corolla? If they are the same, and ...

Or else they would say in spinal tap it only goes to 7. So the story is this, my friend has a vibe and he's going to sell it. And I made it very clear I want to have it as a second car because my first car was appearing to have an issue. And he's got to do stuff and Fiddle and make the car great so ...
Hey folks, I saw the stereo bezel in The Matrix and I love the fact that it had clock... Which I did not think had to be an upgrade in a modern car... And the fact that the three buttons on the left side darling use made me feel better. Has anybody ever done the swap from The Matrix to the vibe? I'm...
wow very cool. im glad i brought this up. i was talking to my friend about saab seats for the front but man what a hassle. outside of looks...is the foam worth the swap? do you find the lower height is an issue?
So today I installed the nav stereo. i bought it for the equivalent of of 22.50usd and it works. its far better sound quality than the cheap pioneer that was installed and looks much better. no electronic marrying involved. it plugged in and totally works. ill be keeping my eye out at the pick and p...
I picked up the unit and will likely install it in the next couple of weeks. It will take that long since I have to find a replacement bezel first (long story). So the gps antenna is rare and stupidly expensive when you can find one. Is there no replacement or alternative to make the gps work other ...
thanks for the reply. i was thinking of non vibe seats that are actually comfortable
petervivian wrote:If you search on YouTube. There is a gentleman who swapped the cloth seats in his first gen Vibe with the leather ones from a parts Vibe.
I appreciate the reply. I'm thinking lumbar support and raised seats aren't going to do it for me. I find them some of the worst seats I've ever sat in in an obviously great car. And in response to the first reply, I actually found a pair of 2010 GTI seats going cheap locally! Although I have been s...
I dont need the newest best or baddest,, I can get the vibe unit for 30 bucks and of it can fit and work id be happy with that. I just noticed the unit has 2 plugs on the back while while I understand base vibe has one cable. its not an issue if the gpd doesnt work but i cant see an antenna would be...

hey there, im going to be getting a base 2006 vibe. i think its a great car in a lot of ways but the seats are some of th worst ive ever seen. are there any seat swaps that people have done out of other toyotas or other cars that are known to work without re-engineering the floor of the car?
