It'll be obvious. The identical pairs go in each mount. You will want the car on jack stands and a floor jack to put light pressure on the transmission or you won't get the rear mount back in (use a block of wood). But it's not a hard job.

PB Blaster works for me most of the time. Not sure if it really breaks the rust better than WD40, but it seems to. After that... rubber mallet, kicking, sledge hammer, prying, and lots of swearing will eventually get even the most stubborn wheel off. If all else fails, pay someone to deal with it :-...

Yup, 05+ did not get them. There is a theory about pennies falling in the slot. I installed one using Genuine Toyota Parts as my first "mod." Cost about $20 back in '05. I haven't used it since '06 though...

If hitting the motor makes it work, the motor brushes are likely worn (assuming it has brushes). Either way, sounds like you need a motor.

If the compressor is not turning on, it could be a blown fuse, bad clutch relay, clutch not engaging... But if you don't know what you're doing, bring it to someone. Even if the system is empty, the compressor should still affect the idle when it turns on as a parasitic drag.

It's only 1.2 hours in the book... Add in all the shop fees though, and I could see you getting to $2-250 for the job.And I believe the EPA is ultimately responsible for the lack of fuel filters on new vehicles...

I found Toyota IV to be dark right out of the bottle compared to most other AT fluids... it makes it look worse than it probably is. As long as it didn't smell burnt, I wouldn't worry.

It's explained in the posts around that wiring diagram you posted. Pin #10 on that one is the one you want. Easiest way to find it - there are two thicker wires in the connector, the r/w wire you want is right next to them.

I can't remember how fun the headlights on the Vibe are, but I've had some fun times doing that simple job.If you can change engine oil, you can do transmission fluid. Dave's advice on doing it at the next three oil changes is good, it'll get most of it changed out.

The Vibe is high enough that you shouldn't need to jack it up to drop the pan. I know you definitely don't need to if you only pull the plug. Silverstars are notorious for dying quickly in Vibes - though usually in the headlights, so don't dismiss them as the problem so quickly. The Silverstar Ultras in my fogs are three years old, but I only got six months out of the low beams. Would be easy to check the bulbs first, then move on. I lost...

You're right, they are different. The filter we use is from a Tacoma, wonder if the resistor is too. There might be part numbers under the sticker...Pic in the other thread makes it look like a GM resistor, similar to the disposable ones in Grand Ams...
