Well bullocks... I just dropped $11 for a K&N filter charger kit today and cleaned my drop in.But I'm at 56k miles so I guess it was about due... The wife isn't as keen on using an oiled filter so maybe this one will do the trick. Thanks for the great write up!

I didn't see an answer to the OP's question... The oil filter's one way valve prevents oil from running back down into the pump. Not a bad choice at all. I might have made the same choice if my commute was very hilly. But it's not - 45 miles of highway... so the 5spd is a great choice for me.'05 is a good vintage. Nice to see another WI member!

You got a sub in the trunk, along the passenger side cargo area.It's an obvious speaker grill with a monsoon logo on it.Or look under the passenger seat for a black box - that's the amp for the whole system.

I notice that my vibe does have a rough closed loop idle - but I chalk it up to trying to idle as low as possible to save fuel / improve emissions. I have 44k miles on my '05 and never had a single problem - and I still get great gas mileage. Typically if something is wrong, your mileage will suffer...

The old Wisconsin plates were pretty fugly.If you've seen "That 70's Show" you've seen the color combination. A putrid yellow with black lettering. It complimented absolutely no automotive colors at all and was difficult to read at a distance. Oh wait... that's a good thing.

It's unfortunate that you have to share your car with an irresponsible driver.Limiting speed to 80mph is a great idea, but not available without heavy modification of the ECU programing. ditto - it really makes a difference.If your lights are exceptionally low, try another 1/2 turn a few days later.The larger improvement was my halogens were replaced with silverstars... I'm on an 11 month replacement schedule.

That's the tube I rerouted to run below the battery and behind the fog light... sure beats sucking in the hot air from the engine bay.---What intake did you have before? did you switch back just for a quieter ride?
