name this mesh/screen part

What is this part under the hood (beneath the windshield wipers, called). I want to clean it by removing it.

Re: Rear Wiper Motor broken?

Thanks for all your help. My wires were Red, Black, Blue and Yellow, different that that very detailed Matrix info. That said, I had a lot of difficulty making sense of that highly detailed info; I was going to try to put 12V to the motor using batteries in series, but I stopped in at a repair shop ...

Rear Wiper Motor broken?

My rear wiper has been not working all winter, and its time to get it fixed. I have a 2005 base model Vibe with manual transmission. Disassembly was a real chore, as the spindle and nuts were ultra seized up with rust/grit and I had to ask around to see if someone could air wrench it off. I am fairl...

Sorry, forgot to mention that I did do that and my set didn't have anything big enough.

Re: How to Remove Rear Wiper Assembly (Tutorial)

Does anybody know what that final nut on the outside of the window's size is? Mine is super seized (spindle too, and that's probably why the wiper doesn't ever move anymore), and I tried using an adjustable wrench and that just started destroying the nut, so I think I need a bit more of a "prop...

Re: Adding factory Cruise control

So for my 2005 Manual Transmission Vibe, I will need the AC Delco part (# D1919E) PLUS the switch by Standard Motor Products (NS151)?

Re: How do I add transmission fluid without dipstick

I bought a $2 flexible funnel and put in some fluid. Only a little bit leaked out at first, likely what was scraped out from the horizontal fill holl when I removed the funnel. I filled in more and removed the funnel again, and that time it seemed to spill out a bit. So I figured that then it became...

Re: How do I add transmission fluid without dipstick

This post is confusing to me. You say "My manual, 2-wheel drive..." then you talk of transmission fluid and Automatic Trans-axle fluid. What do you have, a manual transmission or a automatic transmission? If it is a manual, then the above answer and links work that were posted by andrewcl...

How do I add transmission fluid without dipstick

At my last oil change, they recommended I add a bit more transmission fluid because they said it was low. My manual, 2-wheel drive 2005 Vibe does NOT have a dipstick for the transmission fluid. Does anyone know where the fill cap is? I can not find any information about this online, though my manual...

Re: tailgate door ajar sensor

I am having this issue as of today. I am fairly certain it is the back hatch that is making the door ajar light stay on, as the rear wiper also does not work, and I usually have to slam the back hatch door 2 or 3 times in this -25 C climate (-13F) to get it to properly latch. Even when properly latc...

Re: 2005 Vibe / P0171 code / 1000+ RPM idle / Poor MPG

What should my RPMs be when idling in my Vibe? I saw someone else write about their Matrix that it was idling at 500 and they could feel shaking through the steering wheel.

2005 Vibe / P0171 code / 1000+ RPM idle / Poor MPG

We have owned this Vibe since summer; we're not the original owners. Since then we have had to take it in twice, for the following work (as determined by the auto shop): Diagnose cooling system (replace cooling fan motor, Cooling system service, engine hot oil service), and Diagnose no-start (Fuel p...
