Re: Headlights won't turn off when car turns off?

This community is such a great resource. Just wanted to post another big thank you. Whoever said we get lazy regarding our headlight switch is correct. I recently had the problem described in this thread. There was one big difference that had me worrying it would be an expensive fix. Fortunately I f...

Re: Steve41337 2006 AWD

Yes, the rails are for the fasteners. If you use the fasteners they stick out, which may not be what you want when you put your ladders and boxes in the trunk. Have a look at the fasteners and see if you can find bolts with flat tops to use instead of the original loops. Yes, you're right it would ...

Re: Steve41337 2006 AWD

That makes perfectly sense to me. If you like you could fasten the carpeting to the upper edge of the backs and cut a slit where the where the bench is slit. With the backs up that part of the rug would hang loose. I like your idea of fastening near the top of backseats. Would want to experiment be...

Re: Steve41337 2006 AWD

I've been busy researching aftermarket stereos for my Vibe. The main criteria has been to accommodate a backup cam and also find a touch screen unit that supports Apple Car Play. My research is now complete and I have ordered everything I need for the install (a few things still arriving via UPS ear...

Re: Steve41337 2006 AWD

So is a white vibe with white shrouds and bumper just called a Frosty? Or is there some other adjective added? The two-tone applies due to the fact you have the gray cladding. As seen in my signature picture, the black, silver, and neptune blue vibes are all "monotone" and the funky blue ...

So far I am leaning toward a license plate mounted cam for security reasons https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B4L2OEE/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_3?pf_rd_p=1944687562&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B002X8VF4C&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=7KV7HF28KENK7VDHSWS0 There are similar ...

Re: MacGyver's - 2009 Vibe Base

Yeah I hear you the 4200 is pricey and I'm hoping there may be a price drop soon (lowest price I see online so is amazon for $548.36). I won't buy the head unit until I decide on the rear cam which will take more time to decide. I am slow to make big decisions and the radio and rear cam are very imp...

Re: MacGyver's - 2009 Vibe Base

OK. If I had to press mute to get the rear cam to show-up after putting the vehicle in reverse that would not be acceptable to me. I will continue doing my research and post here what I decide to do. Leaning toward Pioneer AVH-4200NEX so far https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZeYkEgWIaY. Appreciate yo...

That wasn't clear to me. If I am tuning the radio then put the vibe in reverse the full-time cam will show up without me pressing anything on the screen?

Re: MacGyver's - 2009 Vibe Base

Maybe you can help me understand something about having a full-time rear cam used with one of these new touch screen radios. I like the idea that when I put my vibe in reverse the rear cam will automatically show-up on the screen and override whatever was previously displayed there. Maybe there’s no...

Re: Steve41337 2006 AWD

Nice looking Vibe! Steve: I put an inexpensive runner from Lowe's in my cargo area. It's kept in place with plastic fasteners. For your application you may consider putting the carpet in upside down. The backside is easier to clean and your equipment will be cushioned as much. Click on the link in ...

Re: Steve41337 2006 AWD

LED bulbs have polarity. If you are getting 12V at the contacts for the dome light, did you try switching the bulb around in the socket? I'm "positive" :D there's no polarity requirement on the LED replacement bulb I purchased to replace the standard filament bulb (same physical shape and...

please see my post to vibrologist and let me know if I'm mistaken thinking that AWD is the distinguishing model Vibe I just bought.

Maybe I am mistaken but I thought that Vibe model year 2006 that AWD is the model? I have a 2006 Pontiac Vibe AWD and not a Vibe Basic or Vibe GT. Let me know if I am mistaken.

I prefer the shrouds being the same color as the body paint . . . as your vibe is (mine has black shrouds against white paint).

Re: Steve41337 2006 AWD

I measure 12V reaching the dome light switch from the 3-pin connector (on one side of the switch received 12V when the door is open and on the other side of the switch has a continuous 12V supply which would be the expected normal condition). But upon cleaning the switch contacts the dome light stil...

Just got myself a new used Pontiac Vibe! Seems I made a mistake and posted first over in the GenVibe Garage. Should I repost it over here in the Vibe Lounge?

Anyway! Great to be Aboard! This website rocks!

Proud new used Vibe owner earlier this week! Decided I wanted a relatively low-mileage WHITE 2006 to 2008 Vibe with Sunroof and automatic transmission. So let the search begin! Looked locally and nearby large cities before launching an exhaustive search across the continental U.S. using the internet...
