Won’t start - no dash lights…?

Ok so I was dumb and left the key on overnight in my 03 Vibe. Of course the next day I had a dead battery. Tried to jump it from my daughters Jeep but that didn’t work, tried rolling it down my driveway and popping the clutch - didn’t work, so I put it on a battery charger for an hour and still won’...

Re: Fog lights won't come on

The fog light relay is in the underhood fuse block. You can see it in the diagram on page 6-74 of the 03 owner's manual, (a PDF of which can be downloaded from http://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=755 ) its the one right next to the FOG fuse Power for the fog lights comes from the batte...

Re: Fog lights won't come on

I assume you checked with a multimeter at the fog light and aren't getting power at all? There is a relay between the switch and the fog lights themselves. Not sure exactly where it is, but it's either under the dash or under the hood. thanks - I'll have to follow wires and see if I can track down ...

Re: Fog lights won't come on

did you try starting the car first and then turning on the fog lights? I somehow remember that either the regular lights had to be in the power on position (not DRL position) and/or the car had to be actually started. oh YES sorry forgot to mention that in the list. 5. started the vibe, put it in g...

Fog lights won't come on

Hello, it has been awhile since I have been here = busy with work and life. Anyway I tried searching the site some and couldn't find a good answer, so here is my question: I have a 2003 Vibe with 190K miles on it. Have had it for 2 years now and the fog lights have never worked on it...? Heres what ...

Re: Beef up the rear?

Did you scroll down to the various spacers? It's just a link to an Ebay search for "rubber coil spring spacers". Yeah scrolled all the way down = still a generic "item" search... I was able to get there with some "creativity" :) But when I put my vehicle in then - no r...

Re: Beef up the rear?

In the past I have items like in this link to raise saggy cars. They are cheap and easy to install. If they do what you want, then good enough. If they do not work for you then you are not out much time or money. http://www.ebay.com/sch/items/?_nkw=rubber+coil+spring+spacers&_sacat=&_ex_kw=...

Re: Beef up the rear?

How much weight you throwing back there approximately? Have you looked into airbags for the rear? Can be done very cost effectively and sounds like it would be a good match. Easy to install right inside the spring usually. Not sure on Vibe specifics, however. Firestone, I think, may make a inexpens...

Beef up the rear?

Looking for ideas on "beefing up the rear end" of my 03 base model with about 160K miles 5spd man. Reason: I use it for a work vehicle and typically carry about 300lbs of tools/gear in the back cargo area! There is a noticeable 2" drop when loaded and this can't be good for the suspen...

Re: Base Model "upgrades"

On 2005 and up Vibes, adding cruise control is as simple as adding the switch to the steering wheel, because all the wiring is already there. Unfortunately, not the case for 03/04 as your vehicle uses a throttle cable and not an electronic throttle (drive by wire), so a lot of additional hardware i...

Base Model "upgrades"

I am sure that you are done with this by now... but I found that simply grounding the parking brake wire to the head unit bypasses the parking brake safety. What did you end up doing? Re: liqorboxracing 03 Base Model Vibe in Abyss

I do not like this park brake safety wire feature now that I have it hooked up. I am going to bypass it with a relay in the next couple weeks. Basically it renders the head unit unable to play a DVD unless the parking brake is applied. I understand the concept behind it's design but would really li...
