Re: Curiosity about your oil.

Has anyone used, or is using high milage oil?
I've read a few articles saying that the additives in that type of oil has many benefits like gasket conditioning, cleaning agents, raises compression slightly and overall good durability against wear.

I know...sorry vibenvy. :) I just wanted to heat up the cladding around it to get it back to it's normal darker shade. I'm really hoping to get a chance this weekend. Tire shine would do it, but that's just a quick fix. Oddly enough, the oil from peanut butter as well. lol Sorry about the slow reply...

Well, I had a few hours of free time today, so I ended up changing my intake manifold gasket this afternoon. Wen't remarkably well...no broken clips or lost bolts. I was even surprised to see that the stock gasket was still in decent condition. I even cleaned out the inside of the manifold and clean...

Re: Buying advice! 2003 or later?

I've owned my 2004 Vibe since about 2010, with few issues if any. I've had the check engine come on on very cold weather (-18'ish). Cleaned the MAF and throttle body, but came back after a few days. Some folks have mentioned the intake manifold gaskets being a know issue, but mine doesn't seem to be...

You don't need the AC to be on to defrost the windshield. Just setting the control to the coolest setting, with the fan on and having the vents towards the windshield will always blow cool air. I use it during warm summers when I'm alone in the car. Useless if you're multiple ppl and the sun is beat...

I go to the Toyota dealer. You can get 5qts of 5w20 conventional, and OEM filter and a drain plug gasket for about $20. I change it every 5000, which is probably too soon for me. I drive a lot so it ends up coming out looking very clean. Both our Vibes have gotten Penzoil conventional 5W-20 and Toy...

Hi Eric I know that on cold mornings, my Vibe idles at around 1500-2000 rpm for about a minute or so. Actually rises passed 2000 rpm as it warms up on really cold start ups. Re: Water infiltration in the Trix

Hi Bill
No sunroof, I seriously doubt that water would make it all the way in the back without showing signs along the roof fabric.
I was thinking that maybe a vent in the hatch area is letting water splash in from the wheels, but that's unlikely cause the water is clear.

I'm now wondering if it isn't my washer fluid line that may have a leak, seeing that it passes around the rear-passenger side area. By rubber hanger, you mean the round bushing, right? Does it bang from side to side on the bumper? If it's worn out, it has lost it's rigidity, so get a new one. Has it always been an issue? If it's a design issue and just too close, getting a new one probably won't solve your problem. Stop by your ...
