I also ran a beam from the roof rack attachment to the windshield. I kinda started caulking any and all seams and junctions.

Make sure you check the roof rack attachment points. Mine was leaking around the front driver side location. Also, a bead of caulk around the windshield molding has seemed to help immensely. "when you drive the car reasonably fast in a rainstorm, it doesn't leak!" It needs to soak to leak ...

The HVAC door actuator - that's the motor that opens and closes the recirculation vent door. It's one of those parts that I think every single Vibe ends up having break within 7 years, due to several poor designs. I can see it now. A box with one rear headrest, the glove box door, coin holder from next to the steering wheel, and the rug from the bottom of the console :) I was thinking more like a slightly used cabin air filter, the fan speed knob, the wingnut that holds the jack in place, one of the side car...

It is still turning itself on AND off. About once a week now.
It's possessed, and I'm okay with it.

Junk Yard would be cheaper! True. And yet, I have virtually no replacement part cost into this car after 8.5 years of ownership (regular maintenance excluded). So I followed the suggestion of jack stands and hands/paper to find the leaks. Yeah, NO.

My baby is going to the doctor, she has an appt this afternoon. Hopefully it'll only be minor surgery. :lol:

That would be a good start. When I replaced mine the Toyota Dealer gave me a new black gasket. I expected an orange colored updated version. I wanted to replace the TB gasket as well but they did not have it handy. I used sensor save silicone along the outside circumference of the the original gask...

Could also simply be a poorly adjusted moonroof overflowing the drains (assuming one is present!)

That's how mine was for a long time. Took forever to figure it out. (I didn't know about genVibe at the time)

As far as fastening it to the interior, I personally would lean towards an entirely mechanical fastener. I think most adhesives would either creep or simply fail. Two words: Horse Mat. Tractor supply (or similar) is your friend here. Nice and thick, a bit of cushioning, decent weight so it wont move. Just trim to fit, and your good to go. I decided I had finally had enough of that silly beep beep beep........ so its gone now. :D

Thanks for the how-to info, they made it simple. And I learned something new, the surrounds for the instrument cluster is REALLY easy to pop off and so much easier to clean the gauges with it off!!!
