Re: (vibolista)

Sorry I am so late to reply, but maybe my post will help someone else.In Germany, the rear fog light must be red and bright like a brakelight. It must also have its own switch with a yellow/amber indicator so the driver can see it is on.What I had done was to replace the driver's side backup light w...

Tuning Stock radio for even stations?

I have discovered why my stock radio seems like crap here in Germany. It only finds odd channels XX.1,3,5,7,9However here they use the even channels too XX.0,2,4,6,8Is it possible to adjust this? Or do I need to buy a German radio? Thanks in Advance

SLR Lens question: Is bigger better?

Hiya All,I just bought a Canon 350D SLR. It came with an 18-55mm wide angle lens. I am looking into a telephoto lens but have a couple of questions. Why is the 72mm dia. so much more than the 58mm dia lens?Other than light gathering, is there a difference? Is it worth the difference in price? Thanks in...

Re: Still Have OEM 320 CCA Battery (zionzr2)

I still have the original in my 03. It was weak in the Yukon but then it got down to -49°C (-56.2°F), I had a battery blanket on it to keep it warm. However it works great in Germany, however it does not freeze much here. lol

Re: 192HP

Aha! The 01-06 German Corolla came with the 2ZZ-GE 1.8l @ 192HP (VVTL-i) as an optional engine. The 05-06 had an optional Turbo 1.8 VVTL-I 16V TS COMPRESSOR (ZZE123L) rated @ 225HP!I wonder if I could bolt that into my Vibe? Thanks Wiki for the info.

Re: (AKLGT)

Ah the EU headlight issue. For 1600€ I had the TÜV make a dispensation for the lights, allowing me to drive with them. They also disconnected my front parking lights and added clear ones, and turned one of my backup lights into a rear fog light with a red lens.I will post some pics of the TÜV mo...

German Vibe

Here is my 2003 Base.I finally put it on the road this year, it loves the autobahn, but it needs suspension work for highspeed and the curves. (Getting embarassed by Golf GTis)It does however like Germany better than the Yukon! LOLCheers http://www.manitoo.net/vibe.html

SAE is not EU

Hmm, I now know a lot about headlights, lol.My headlights are made in Taiwan, and the ones for the Voltz would be wrong as the pattern is reverse because the Voltz is a right-hand drive.SAE standards have a higher glare than the EU, and use less current.I am still no closer to having EU approved lig...

Re:

Probably not, the TÃœV is a German thing. they measure exhaust gas levels, interior noise levels and exterior noise levels. My Harley had to be below 101 db, making it sound more like a Honda shadow. lolNo worries about no knowing who's in the EU, I had to look it up online.Cheers,JS

Nah, I retired from the Airforce, now I control satellites. The wife is German, and she did not like the weather in the Yukon (-49C last winter), so it was an easy choice to move here.I do believe that Lithuania is a part of the EU now, but the Vibe is not offered there, the Vibes had to be imported....

Glad you are home safe and sound.Dad was a meathead, but he always said Airforce police. About the dealer, call GM and see what they say.
