Re: Front Passenger Turn Signal

Nevermind. Got it. Take a flat head screw driver and wiggle electrical connection off from above. Then twist bulb out and replace. I think I was having a frustrating day the first time I tried it. ... :)

Re: Front Passenger Turn Signal

I'm here researching the same question. I can get my hand on it, but there is so much stuff in the way that I can't use my hand well enough to get it out. Pliers don't fit in there to help. I was also considering removing the entire headlight assembly to get to it. I have an 06 GT.

Re: High Idle 03 Vibe GT 2zz

Glad to hear you figured it out. It seems that it was an unbeatable problem for the 2zz engine. I just replaced the IAC, TP, and cleaned the throttle body. The IAC definitely needed it as it was stuck, TP I did because the code told me to do it. It is a little better but not good as new as yours is....

Torque Specs for Valve Cover

Hi, I just replaced the valve cover gasket (2zz engine), now I need to retighten the bolts. I used to know the torque for it, but now I forgot, and I can't find where I originally found that information... I did try to research this without having to ask, but couldn't find a thread on here regarding...

Re: 2zz Replace AIC or ECU? And exhaust getting into cabin.

That is a fantastic diagram! I'm familiar with the things attached to the throttle body and the mass airflow meter. I think I already have a can of that stuff in the garage, I'll have to check. CO detector didn't go off at all today. I did find rat poop under the hood. Maybe I was smelling rat pee g...

Re: 2zz Replace AIC or ECU? And exhaust getting into cabin.

My roommate is on vacation and let me borrow his car for the week, so I am not driving my death mobile anymore. I don't hear a noise, by my car is a little noisy these days anyway. Good suggestion to check for a coolant leak. I was just cleaning out the throttle body, so I might have pulled a hose o...

2zz Replace AIC or ECU? And exhaust getting into cabin.

I have a 2006 GT with 209K miles. The throttle body has a cable running to it. I am looking to buy another vibe, and have found one, but there have been many delays, and now the issues that I have with my vibe are urgent - especially the exhaust in the cabin. Thanks for reading. I appreciate the wea...

Re: VibeGT - Engine high reving on its own

This might be a dumb question, but how bad is it to drive the car with high idle? Mine normally starts off at 2K, then calms down after warming up to about 1200 RPM. I cleaned the battery grounds and the throttle body, and replaced the TPS (because that is the code that got sent). With 207K on my ca...

Re: VibeGT - Engine high reving on its own

Just curious what is the end story for this. I am having the same problem with my 2zz (06 GT with a throttle cable). I replaced the TPS (which is the code that came and went) to no avail. I brought it to GM, and they were not much help, they wouldn't even tell me if they checked the vacuum lines or ...

Re: 2006 GT Replace TPS w/o replacing throttle body?

Ooh, the repair manual! Fantastic. I saved the link. A/C didn't have a difference with the RPMs to the car. If it did, then I would suspect the idle speed control circuit. (Or at least that is what my old research showed it out be...) My current problem is high RPM, and the old problem was intermitt...

Re: 2006 GT Replace TPS w/o replacing throttle body?

I wish the recall was for my engine. Sadly it is not. I can't get into GM until Monday, so I decided to just replace the TPS and see if that works. But had to stop because New Years, so I will finish tomorrow. I got stuck on taking the throttle cable off, it doesn't seem to be designed to come off, ...

Re: 2006 GT Replace TPS w/o replacing throttle body?

Oh Jolt, that is the best news I've heard in a week. I should have read closer. My car does have a throttle cable. Hurray!!! My problems with stalling started 3 years ago - the day after I got the clutch replaced - but that seems to be a coincidence. It stalled sometimes when I was slowing down (I a...

Re: 2006 GT Replace TPS w/o replacing throttle body?

Thanks Jolt, I'll start getting in there tonight. The Haynes Manual says: "On 2005 and later engines, the throttle body is operated by an electric throttle control motor instead of a cable. On these models, the TPS is part of the throttle motor assembly and cannot be replaced separately. If the...

2006 GT Replace TPS w/o replacing throttle body?

Before I start digging into my engine, I was hoping to get some clarification. I bought a new TPS, and have been getting conflicting information on if I can actually replace it alone or if I have to replace the entire throttle body. (New throttle body is about $700 and there are none to be found in ...
