Re: Installing Kenwood ddx9903s what else do I need?

If you search Vibe radio wiring diagram on google you'll find some helpful images of what color wires goes where. Also, make sure you get the Scosche brand dash kit if they make one that is double din. The other manufacturer that makes install kits for our cars is subpar, at least the single DIN one...

Re: Engine advice, ran engine without oil.

It's not the shop's fault, look at how long it ran. If you don't check your oil, it's not someone else's fault. On my car, the oil sender failed, allowing the oil to leak, rapidly, when the car was running. No leak when sitting. This went for two days. One more day, and my car would have run dry. I...

Re: Engine advice, ran engine without oil.

Was it the shops fault the engine ran out of oil? Was the plug loose? Also recommend getting a junk yard engine out of a crashed vibe/matrix with lower miles. If you call around to a bunch of shops you can usually find a small shop that will do the swap for a reasonable price. Just had a tranny swap...

Re: Alpine 2/1 Channel Power Amplifier MRV-T503 500W

You'll likely need a power wire to turn on the amp. This wire goes from the amp to the radio. When the radio powers on, it sends a signal to the amp to turn on. I have the Alpine MRV-500w amp - similar amp to yours. I can check if you can't figure out which color wire to use. Also - i have a alpine ...

Break out the tape measure and see how wide you can go. Then stop into the store any measure up the max battery size you can fit. You might need to temporarily remove the battery to get a good look at the clearance. But you should be able to go bigger

What do you expect to gain by doing this? Trying to avoid fixing a broken EVAP system? Besides more pollution you'll decrease your MPGs slightly; and your gas will evaporate and go stale faster if you don't allow the tank to build slight pressure. Yeah, fix the problem by removing it. I guess...

Could it be that the speaker is blown? Do you have a volt meter? Check the wires going to the speaker in the back and see if they're getting power. HOW TO: convert spare tire well for REAL jack

The factory jack is dangerous to use. The base on it is SO tiny it's prone to tipping over. Or, if that doesn't happen, the thinly stamped metal will probably fold in on itself. I've seen both situations happen and it's scary. Anyways, I cut out the factory mount and fabbed up a sheet metal part whi...

The duct seal compound worked a little too well, quieting the box down too much. So i pulled half of it out until i got the sub tuned to where i thought it sounded best. Looking back, i should have just put the duct seal behind the subwoofer on the inside of the box and some of the areas of the outs...

The best handling upgrade you can make without increasing the harshness like lowering springs will do, is to get a front and rear swaybar package. They really help to control the sway of the vehicle when going around corners. The factory swaybars are a joke. Then do tires... don't go cheap on tires....

Looks good thought about the same when I had the rear cargo area apart. The 6.5" OEM woofer is ok, but 8" would definitely be a better match. Are you going to add anything in or around the plastic box to minimize resonance? The odd shape of the OEM box seemed to create peaks in the bass c...
