Heater Core Backflush

2007 Vibe 1zz, is the top hose on the firewall the core inlet? I checked the temp on both hoses today and the top one was warmer which means the inlet side right?

Thermostats

Summer of 2015 I did some maintenance including a coolant flush, hoses, t-stat. 2007 1.8L 155k km. Picked up the hoses, t-stat and other items at my local CARQUEST. Lately the cabin heat has had a mind of it's own, and I drove home yesterday to find coolant leaking from what appeared to be good look...

Re: What did you do to your Vibe today?

I changed plugs and cleaned the pcv valve today. Couple of days ago she started rough once and has hit 155k km. Decided it was time. I went with the NGK g-power platinum plugs instead of the iridiums. A third the price, supposed a better spark for a shorter lifespan. Only do ~10k km a year so I'm no...

Matrix vs Vibe Window Regulator?

Does anyone know if the Matrix manual crank window regulator will fit the Vibe? 2007 Vibe base, front left (drivers) side.
Rockauto has Matrix manual crank regs but they only list power regs for the Vibe.
Thanks.

Re: What did you do to your Vibe today?

Bled the brakes and changed the power steering fluid. I'm really impressed with how well the ATF/acetone mixture works for loosening rusted fittings like the brake bleeders in this case. All four loosened up, had to pull one to blow the channel clear of gunk for it to work. The rubber covers were pr...

How did I miss this post? Very nice mod and certainly one that was much needed. Did you break any plastic trim pieces or clips during the removal process? I'm always leery about tearing the interior apart because it just seems that when you put it all back together, the fit is not as good as before...

I also have a base '07. Manual door locks, crank windows, no moonroof. Plain old mirror with no map lights. Looks stock to me and I found no wire harness for the fancy mirror when I removed the headliner. Check out my thread where I added leds up front to improve my lighting. http://forums.genvibe.c...

Nice, great resource for others. Its great to have light up high. Appears only some base Vibe's had maplights on the rear view mirror, great add on for those that do not. Thanks Derf. I was under the mistaken assumption that there might just be an LED version of the existing bulb that could be easily swapped out, i.e. replace the OEM bulb with an LED counterpart. As I posted earlier, Philips has direct replacement bulbs. LMGTFY: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-festoon-X-tremeVisio...

Re: LED bulbs for dome & cargo area lights?

My Princess Auto has direct led replacement bulbs for the dome lights. Philips brand $10 each, single diode. Mine were the shorter of the two festooned styles. However, I went a cheaper route and modded 2X3 diode panels ($3) in the fixture. I just made a thread about it here, check it out.

LED Interior Light Mods

The interior lighting in my '07 Base was not as good as I wanted it to be so I started messing around. Picked up some leds from Princess Auto and went at it. Hey, I'm looking to do the same with an amp under the passenger front seat. The amp from the link looks like it should fit under there. I was measuring under there too. You know you drive a Vibe when you can adjust the heat vents to blast hot air on your hands in the 10 & 2 positions on the steering wheel. I really like that now that it's getting colder out I did this yesterday. It works very well. Now I can stop working on that heated steering wheel swap

I didn't know there was as much room under the seat as there appears to be. I've got a couple of different 8" drivers hanging around so that sounds like a good project. I like the idea of the downfiring box.

Did you get any pics of your install yet? How's it sound?

Hi Raven, as you're a Subie nut, I'm more of a 'Yota fanboy so the Scion name didn't bother me at all. I like the front end of the FR-S more the the BRZ...
