I had this problem where I couldnt get into defrost. It turned out the evaporator box that controls where the airflow goes had a broken gear so the little slider thing was only working on one end. exspensive fix

I can't give you a exact answer but I wouldnt because 17 is the biggest they offer with the car. You can get a full set of black steel rims for like $240 total. thats the route I went after my oem chrome rims got bent instead of paying $500 per new one

I think the bass in my 09 vibe sounds pretty nice with the monsoon system. The car has alot of road noise. Maybe I'm not very good at telling the difference between good sound system and a bad one. But I think it's pretty neat

I almost never brake to cancel cruise control, I pull back on the lever to cancel it. I try to drive very efficiently, braking as little as possible(braking by definition means you've wasted gas). I'd say I get about 25-27 depending on the day (go through about a tank a day) It's mostly highway miles but it's AWD with steel wheels. I can for sure get 300 miles before the light comes on if it's 100% highway cruise control

Today it didnt act up at all, that's a first since I posted my issue. My mechanic appointment is at the end of the day tomorrow I'm wondering if it magically fixed itself... I think i'll still go to have it checked out maybe it's something really simple but I don't wanna waste their time either :/

IDK about the subaru AWD but I'm pretty sure the vibe's AWD is only on when the car thinks it needs it(senses a tire slipping) Outback is a good car, just much more expensive.

I would think disabling the passenger light would be easy enough. Pop out the panel you needed to remove to disable the TPMS light and unplug it. When I had body work done on the vibe from a bobcat backing into it, the guy at the body shop offered me a little bottle of touch up paint from what he had left over after painting the car. As far as the knob turning hard, that can be a very expensive fix. Mine did that and wouldn't go to defrost, something very much needed in minnesota.
