Unfortunately not. Was in a bit of a hurry and just tossed it. I believe it was a Champ filter, if that matters..

Shavings found in oil for the first time..

https://i.imgur.com/mkSTmfM.jpg Long story short, we moved to CA and my in-laws drove our Vibe 2,500 miles across the country to deliver it to us. Before making the trek, my father-in-law went to a quicky lube shop to change the oil (for which I had a stern talking to him afterward). In any case, w...

FS: Brand New Curt Trailer Hitch, Model 122343

Bought this for my 2007 Vibe, but our second vehicle will be a larger SUV that can tow, so this is no longer needed! I have a ball to include with it as well. $120 shipped

Well, that does not make me feel confident..

Is this perhaps something I can put off for at least a little bit, and just make sure to check the oil level every now and then?

Tried getting a photo farther up from the timing chain tensioner. From what it looks like, it doesn't appear to be coming from the valve cover gasket..

Re: Oil leak on left side of engine, no idea where it's coming from..

So I got a pic of the timing chain tensioner on the back of the engine. It looks like the leak is coming from higher up, but maybe the leak from the tensioner is getting splashed around? Or maybe it's the actual timing chain cover?

Re: Oil leak on left side of engine, no idea where it's coming from..

That is "left" when you stand in front of the car, correct? Typically that is referred to as the passenger side or right side. That's where the drive belt is. The most common oil leak is a failing O-ring of the timing chain tensioner on that side. Yes, the passenger side! I'll go ahead ch...

Oil leak on left side of engine, no idea where it's coming from..

Was under my 07 base Vibe this weekend to change the oil and noticed oil residue and a couple of places where oil is dripping from, but I have no idea where it's originating from. No oil buildup on the belts, but nearly the whole left side toward the bottom rear is covered in oil residue. Anyway, he...

Stuck Brake Caliper?

About two months ago I changed the brake pads in both front calipers and bled the brake line in the left one (bleeder screw snapped off the right one so that remains undone). Fast forward to today and my wife gets home from running an errand and I notice a strong burning smell. Turns out it's coming...

Slightly broken spark plug cap, and oil on spark plug..

I changed the spark plugs today on my '07 base Vibe ( here are the old plugs for kicks) and I ended up breaking off a piece from one of the spark plug caps: https://i.imgur.com/sbHvwtU.jpg I was able to re-install it just fine and the car still starts and runs as normal, but I'm not sure if that bro...

Engine idle vibration -- How much is too much?

I have a base 2007 Vibe and it idles perfectly steady at 700 RPMs. However, there's a little bit of vibration, but I'm not sure if it's a problem or just normal with these engines. Basically, it's a calm vibration that isn't too crazy or anything. Mostly just feels like a massager if you had it on a...

Rear toe adjustment issues

Alright, so I'm posting this on here so I can hopefully understand the problem better and maybe get a second opinion on what I should do. I took my 2007 Vibe in for a wheel alignment. They did the front wheels just fine. When they moved to the back, they noticed the rear toe was just off by a very s...

Re: Cheapest tires that are worth a damn?

Thanks for the input, Vibrologist! Do all Vibes come with tire pressure sensors? I've never once seen a dash light come on warning me about tire pressure. As for the wheel material, I think it's just steel because they have plastic hubcaps covering the unsightly wheel itself. After doing a bit of re...

Re: Cheapest tires that are worth a damn?

Yeah, forgot to mention that I prefer all-season tires. I guess that does makes a difference as far as the quality I should be shooting for. Don't really want to spend more than $100/tire if I can help it.

Cheapest tires that are worth a damn?

I have a 2007 Vibe FWD and it's getting close to needing new tires, especially the rear. The fronts are Hankook Ventus V2 Concept2 tires that have around 25K miles on them and still have some tread left (installed in 2015). The rears are 7-year-old Michelin Destiny tires that are starting to dry rot...

Auto transmission fluid change questions

My 2007 Vibe is at 150K miles and I'm not sure if a transmission fluid change was ever done, so I'm going to finally do it myself, although I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information. The biggest thing is whether I should do a pan drop and change the filter/clean the magnets? Or just drain it and r...

Rattle noise coming from below when it's really cold

2007 Vibe here. As the winter has gotten extremely cold here in the midwest, I've noticed that sometimes the car will make a rattle noise off and on for the first couple minutes of driving when it's really cold. The noise sounds like it's coming from below the center console in between the front sea...

Help with Replacing Cigarette Lighter Socket

The cigarette lighter stopped working at one point in my 2007 Vibe, but was too lazy to fix it until now. For starters, I'm pretty sure it's not a blown fuse because the power outlet and the audio system still works (manual says all of that is connected to the same fuse). With that said, the cigaret...

2007 Vibe here. My first thought is that a hole has rusted through the muffler or a pipe, but I grabbed a flashlight and did some quick peeking and feeling around and didn't see anything. The car is running fine and I've been reading that a symptom of a leaking intake manifold gasket is rough idling and mis-firing, but we haven't experienced any of that.

Sensor issue caused by worn head gasket?

Hey everyone. My wife has a 2007 Vibe and her check engine light came on the other day. We took it to a mechanic in town to get it looked at, expecting it to be just something simple. It turns out that a sensor telling the car how much fuel vs. air the engine is supposed to take in is malfunctioning...
