Unfortunately, it's time to sell my 2004 Vibe GT. Been a great car for me, but time to get a truck. Here's the info: - 165k miles - New clutch June 2014 - New starter June 2015 - Currently on the summer 17" wheels and tires, with winter tires on the original 16" alloy wheels in the garage ...
Since someone else resurrected it, St. Clair Shores here... now phobzilla isn't the only one running around the Detroit burbs in an abyss GT with a yak rak!
Interested, but have a question - were you able to use your stock shift knob and boot with this, or would I need to go aftermarket for a heavier knob and shorter boot?
FYI on the prop rod "grommet" - it is a totally different part now. Gone is the easy-to-wear-out rubber grommet, in with the new hard plastic part. Much improved over the stock design, and snapped right into place.
+1 for Philips Xtreme Power bulbs. I thought my lenses were too hazy, but when a headlight went out I swapped for these and it was (literally) night and day difference.
Still need to polish the lenses, but that's waiting for a nicer day. Wet sanding in freezing weather is no fun at all!!!
Did you notice any ride difference with the 18s? I was looking for some nice, used, wheels and a set of 18s came up for sale (TSW Snettertons). What's the weight of the stock 16s and 17s (for comparison)?
I did this job not long ago and used a screwdriver bit (the short kind that goes in the magnetic bit holder) and the matching open end wrench to get the screws out. Using the bit/wrench combo gave the space needed to start the screw loose, then I went in with a taped socket to take it all the way ou...
How messy is it to do the self-application? Do I need to park the car on a giant piece of cardboard to spray it on? I've been to the Krown website and they talk about drips and how to clean them up, so I can imagine that spraying a car in the driveway/garage would cause issues...
I emailed them to ask: Does this require permanent modification, or could I go back to the stock shifter if required? Do you have installation instruction you can send? They responded: can switch back easily....do not have any instructions, but pretty straight forward following your cars manual than...
Yeah, but then what would you be spinning on the highway? I'm running 3k plus at highway speeds - bigger gears and it would be whining quite a bit on the 'way!
Just wanted to say a quick hi and thanks for all the great information on the site. After a long search, finally found an '04 Abyss GT in pretty good shape. Put a coat of polish and wax on the somewhat neglected paint and ended up with this: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-R14e2AZAT-U/UqUrpZ3nwwI...
I'd have to do some searching for a pic of old Neptune, though I think I still have some leftover parts from when some wonderful person backed into her and left. I'll see what I can dig up. As for expanding the search to all gen 1s, I found the information on the other site, and if I can get a good ...
Hello all. First off, thanks for the forum and all the good information on the site. It has helped me get the information that I need for my Vibe GT purchase. A 2003 Vibe GT was my first new vehicle purchase, but I was forced to sell it all too soon when kids came around. Fortunately, we are beyond ...
Hello all - first post here. I'm searching for a Vibe GT in my area, and the most recent one that I have an interest in has the deck spoilers on it which I don't particularly care for. Has anyone ever removed these? If so, how difficult was it and how much did it cost to have the holes filled in/pai...
