yeah, it got smacked on the (removed) good. The rest of the car looks to be in good shape. I can still see my Short ram intake, and the magnaflow exhaust is still on little scarlet. Even the engine heater is still there, so they didn't have to do nothing like pull the engine. It's tempting.. hehe, b...

I know I know... evil words to utter... but cargo space is comparable, mileage is 28 city / 37 highway, not sure on the ride though.

Had to run back to the stealership this past weekend, I left my I-pass tollway fob in it. A quick look at the pictures told me they didn't do much to clean it as it was still there on the windshield. So... yeah... between this transmission issue (costs running from a little under 2k to 4.5k, used transmission vs reman/new) and the potential to need to do something down the road about it burning oil, I elected to go with the nuclear option. As of about an hour ago, I am no longer the owner of a 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT. The saga of the transmission brought to light my languish on making car decisions. I took a look this afternoon again for the car I've been searching for (4 months now), and found one at a decent price/mileage. I took a tes...

While it sucks, I agree, it sounds like it might be something to fix while parts are still around. I was recommended to another place, by the independent shop I called, that specializes in transmissions. I should have a quote from them tomorrow.

Chevy recently announced the 2017 Cruze Hatchback. It has similar specs to the 2nd gen vibe as far as internal space and engine power / fuel economy. And rumor is the 2018 will have Chevy's 4 banger diesel that gets mpg in the 50's.

That's good to know Carrie. Was a bit worried about fitting over the rotor and caliper, and rubbing in the wheel well. Now just to run em till the tread gets low on my current tires, then I'll make the move to the 16's, no use wasting good tread :P. Then my vibe's ride will be smooth as butter.

Got my Rim and Tire put back on. Got a treadlife discount on the old tire (unrepairable puncture, not sidewall). Tire place was also kind enough to secure the old center cap to the new rim, and re-silicone the other 3. Rule number whatever... avoid rocks, or it will cost you.
