The 6sp seems to hold up far better. That being said, the syncros in mine are (removed) thru almost all the gears. Been like that since I got it. A fluid change with a mix I like improved it but it still needs some work. Not generally an issue but can be a bear occasionally when driving spiritedly.

They are a direct bolt in, all 4 corners fit. Yes, these are the 05/06 Corolla XRS seats so they are radically different than the regular Corolla seats. So, they were a direct swap? If nothing else, they look like they have more side bolstering and I like the idea of sitting a little lower in the car, as well. Those are XRS seats? I'd imagine they have more bolstering than regular 9th gen corolla seats.

I use Toyota red. Not the premix. Waayyy too expensive for you to just add water and basically give me half the coolant. lol I premix my own using distilled water. Don't forget to fully flush your coolant system if you haven't already and are unsure of what was used before or if another type of cool...

Base 04? Auto or manual? I know the GTs are a bit heavier, @ 2820lbs, than a manual base. I think the manual base model was a hair over 2700lbs. And the awd was heavier than both @ 2940lbs plus. Not sure on the auto base model but fair to say you can tack on a few more lbs for that auto.

Welcome. Glad you enjoy the car. It's a good, little car. Hard to get into power mods without a bit of cash, but it takes well to the available suspension and handling mods. Myself and my passengers find the car more of a pleasure to drive and ride in than when it was stock.

Depending on where you live, you can have them bolstered and reupholstered for a decent price. I've found these kinda places are generally more plentiful if you live in the SW.

If I owned a welder, I probably would've swapped mine long ago.

Good luck getting them to do anything. So many people have had issues suddenly crop up after these recalls. Everyone gets the same (removed) from the various GM dealers. Shirking responsibility and placing it on the customer who came in for the recall. It's complete and total bs. I won't even get in...
