Re: 2003 GT parking brake

Same problem. I paid a bunch of money and waited a long time for the shop to find parts - rear disc stuff appears to be hard to source, I assume because there weren't a ton of these. Worked for a couple of years and is now back to doing nothing. I'm not going to spend any more on it. It's pretty fla...

Re: 2003 Vibe gt and 03 vibe gt parts car

Man, I'm tempted to build a stable of donors, but I think as soon as the next big thing that happens to my 03 GT after the recent trans swap earns out, I'm going to give up and buy something new. Does your parts car happen to have leather seats? I think that's the only thing I'd really like to have ...

Dog cargo covers?

Anyone have a dog/pet cargo cover in your vibe that you like? I've been looking at them all over the internet. No one has one specifically cut for the vibe, but there are lots of general fit ones.. Just don't want to waste the money "trying" them out.

Re: C60 Transmission rebuild

Your call. The C60 is rebuildable, but also cheap enough you can snag one from a junkyard to replace it. I had a hell of a time finding a C60, though I was looking for one with a little bit of a warranty and sub 100k miles. No one had them, til I found one kind-of sketchy place that had two. Cost m...

Re: How many miles on your Vibes?

I'm at 217k on my 2003 GT. Just put a new transmission in, so hopefully I can get at least another 60k or so out of it, at least. (still cheaper than buying a new car)

Re: "transmission bearing"? - 6speed '03 GT making noises

The shop ended up being nice and didn't charge me for the misdiagnosis. I looked at new cars and while I can afford some of them, I just can't rationalize the money/value situation. I had to rent a car yesterday for a doctor appointment, and I think there's nothing to put you off a new car more than...

"transmission bearing"? - 6speed '03 GT making noises

Hey all, My vibe has been plugging along over the years. we're at 217,000 miles now. I'd noticed the last couple of months it's gotten really loud when driving. the sound changes with vehicle speed, not RPM. I was thinking wheel bearing.. Anyway, I took it in to the shop, and they said it was a CV a...

Re: Anyone know 1st Gen GT wheel specs?

https://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=40003 Thanks for that! So from that post, it looks like all 1st gens are 1.8l, and all 1.8 wheels are the same specs.. so all first gen wheels specs are the same. (at least as far as pattern, bore and offset) 2003-2008 Base 1.8l 1ZZ-FE 4-sp...

Anyone know 1st Gen GT wheel specs?

My aluminum wheels are getting pretty trashed and I'm thinking about putting on some steel wheels. I found a great thread here with all the details for second gen wheels, but not full details on 1st gen GT wheels. It looks like they are 16x6.5, but I can't find anything about offset. I see lots of p...

Bumping this thread - I'm having a similar problem as OP. ('03 vibe GT here, ~190k miles) I know my LCAs are worn, so it's a definite probability, just curious if anyone else has experienced this and solved the problem.

anyone have photos of the weathertech floor mats installed?

My OE mats are looking like garbage. A couple of holes forming. I keep seeing folks mention the weathertechs, but when I go to their site, the only thing they have for my '03 vibe GT is a "trim to fit" which doesn't sound worth the price and gives me concerns about their ability to stay pu...

If you part it, I may be interested in front floor mats, steering wheel and shift knob.. all depending on price/condition. PM if you go that way.

Just curious what you did or will be doing with this Vibe. Keep us posted! Sorry, life has been hectic. I bought a beater car and drove that until I got pulled over for looking suspicious in my neighbor hood.. then I decided to put a new clutch in the vibe. It was just as I'd assumed - one of the c...

Re: FS: 2003 Vibe GT, 173k, clutch problems $1500obo - Indiana

Thanks for the comment. The engine is nice. Plenty of power. the VVTLi kicks in at around 6200rpm and runs up to redline at around 9000. still pretty fuel efficient. I was kind of surprised to learn that the head is made by yamaha, but I suppose it makes sense. Yeah, probably worth paying someone to...

Thought I'd throw this up here as a feeler while I find a new daily driver. Black '03 GT, 173,XXX miles located in Indianapolis, IN 46280 The good: -2zz engine runs strong -new alternator last year -new timing chain tensioner last year -New rear rotors/calipers/pads + ebrake pads last month -new wi...

'03 GT - Can't disengage the clutch

I was driving home on the highway and went to shift from 4 to 5 and the stick didn't want to go.. I forced it in. thought maybe it was a synchro thing, but the pedal felt funny too. the next time I tried to shift, I realized that the clutch wasn't disengaging when I put the pedal down - verified whe...

Air Conditioning problems - pressure good, compressor wont kick on

Maybe a little different than the way it sounds... AC has always been an issue in this car. Long ago had a leak in the condenser, and I replaced it. worked for a while, then started having this deal where I'd have the mechanic fill it up, it'd work for a while, then the compressor would just stop co...

I'm hunting for a leather steering wheel for a '03 vibe. mine has gotten kind of goopy.

Also looking for a set of waterproof seat covers.

please get in touch if you have either of these.

yep, I did. turned out it was a fuse in the fuse block under the dash. I just had to go through all of them until I found the dead one.

not OEM. The problem doesn't seem to be with the stereo - I am testing with VOM off of the car's actual harness.

just the stereo. the ignition lead from the car's stereo wiring harness appears dead. Hoping there's a fuse somewhere so I don't have to back track through the harness. :(

stereo ignition lead dead?

So my stereo recently just stopped working. I pulled it out, and it's built-in and inline fuses on the harness all look good. Put the meter on it, 12V is good, but the "ignition" 12V is showing 0V all the way back to the factory harness. I haven't been able to find an appropriate fuse char...
