Re: Headlight Restoration

After restoration it needs a permanent sealant. I tried different products and I searched so much. The best permanent protector is Opti Coat 2.0 or Opti-Lens It is a thin ceramic layer. http://www.opti-coat.com/coatings.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It is little bit expensive b...

Re: Oil leak in Base 2004, possibly from Timing Cover gasket

Thank you for hint !
After I changed timing chain tensioner I also checked out ocv filter I just cleaned it with Brake Cleaner it was clean though.
Maybe I need to change its gasket.
That OCV filter is exactly above the place that I see some dirt (3 point area)

Re: OIL LEAK? Timing-Chain-Tensioner-ORing-Replacement

I replaced it this afternoon.
I heard one click then I didn't rotate the alternator anymore. it was loud enough. I rotated about 60 degree counter clockwise.
it seems ok !

Thank you Circuitsmith and all the other members !

Re: OIL LEAK? Timing-Chain-Tensioner-ORing-Replacement

Thank you Circuitsmith Now I got the point. it will be released because of pressure of the chain. I will do it hopefully in the next weekend I was wondering why some people reported 3 or 4 clicks sound instead of one ! Today I just tried to rotate the alternator to see what will happen and what I ca...

Re: Oil leak in Base 2004, possibly from Timing Cover gasket

I am not sure I am right but Timing chain tensioner is in the rear side of the engine while the place that 455SD was talking about is in front of the engine you mean little bit oil in the place that 455SD was mentioned (3 point area) is also related to Timing chain tensioner ? can oil come from rear...

Re: Oil leak in Base 2004, possibly from Timing Cover gasket

455SD ! Thank you for your post I have a slight leakage around the area that you mentioned.(3 point area) it is different than timing belt tensioner leakage. I think it is somewhere close to the passenger side head cylinder and timing belt cover and Cylinder block. many times I cleaned it with brake...

Suspension Vibe vs Matrix & GM parts support

Hi all, I know many experts are in this forum, I bought a Vibe/base 2005 two years ago, up to now I did some minor things for my vibe . Tranny oil change, PCV valve, spark plugs. So I know my engine 1zz-fe and tranny A246e are exactly the same as matrix base 2003-2008. I think I need to change my Sw...
