Re: 1-2 shift hesitates and then hits hard

Mine is a 1.8. Not sure of the trans differences between the 1.8 and 2.4 liter engine cars. I am having great luck changing trans fluid in other cars as well. I think it's a very good idea to change trans fluid at 30 to 60K mile intervals no matter what the factory calls for. Make sure you're using ...

Re: 1-2 shift hesitates and then hits hard

Got an '09 Vibe. It currently has 67K. I always hated the 1-2 shift - had car since about 56K. I thought it would maybe slip a little and then shift harder than it should. All other shifts felt fine. I just changed the filter and fluid (3.x quarts)... fixed. I used "WS" (as it says on dips...

Beware 09-10 Vibe owners or What's wrong with this pic?

Vibe rotor and pads.jpg It seems someone installed 2.4 liter calipers instead of 1.8 liter calipers on my 09 Vibe before I bought it. That may sound funny but if you look up parts for the 1.8 and 2.4 liter versions of the 09-10 Vibe, you'll find that the calipers, rotors and pads are different. The...

Re: Warp rotors every 5,000, mi

Make sure to clean the hub before you seat the rotor. If there's any debris on the hub, it will tilt the rotor. Any rust thicker than fine powder can be a problem that could easily cause pulsing over time. I just changed rear rotors on my Honda Ridgeline. I noticed that the new rotor "wobbled&q...

Re: How to add steering wheel buttons to an 09-10 base

DOH! The steering sensor aka angle sensor is a separate part and is removable from the original clock spring. Hurrah! Maybe I missed that in the write-ups. Pics later. Bottom line: I have the correct part and I needed to transplant the steering sensor to the new clock spring. That was a head scratch...

Re: How to add steering wheel buttons to an 09-10 base

Well, I seem to have really done it now... The new clock spring I ordered does not have a "steering sensor". I assume this is for traction control or recording to the black box what the inputs were "before the crash" :o I have to check on a number of things but here's a short lis...

Re: 2009 Aftermarket Radio Harness

Moving the pins/receptacles in the connector shell was challenging for me on the 70-2105. I did not want to lose this battle  and I wondered why the harness was not configured better?! Maybe it fits more applications configured the way it is. There are tools you can buy to do this but I ended ...

Re: How to add steering wheel buttons to an 09-10 base

Hello, I did this mod on my 2009 AWD vibe. It believe it's a base model but not sure, I opted for a whole new leather wrapped steering wheel with both side controls. I also cut off the side wings from my old airbag. I've installed the new clock spring. I'm just confused about what to do now and get...

Re: Radio lights going out

Thanks for help here. I just did my radio (Yeah! success!) and about to do my brother's. I got the bulb's quick from one of the links in this thread (Bulbtown - #2162 miniature bulb wire terminal base). They were .70 each so I ordered 10 knowing I'd need at least 6. My mission is to replace all (I t...

Re: Stereo upgrade

I looked up your exact model on the crutchfield site. It is 114.99 shipped with all the mounting hardware, wiring goodies and instruction sheets needed (your prices with Amazon assuming you have a Prime account is $110.01). The bonus is that you get outstanding lifetime technical support. I've bough...

Re: My Spark Plugs After 117,000 Miles

I pulled my plugs at 109K miles. I think they looked similar to the ones above (judge for yourself). Frankly, I think they looked awful. A large part of the center electrode was gone. The car also runs considerably better. I can't speak to the gas mileage yet and my current gas mileage is pretty goo...

Re: Any manual lens users here?

I have a D7000 (Nikon) as well as a few lenses (18-200, 35mm 1.8, 18-70, 18-55). I do go manual pretty often. I love closing in on a tight depth of field as you did with the first picture. I also have a Canon A1 with a 50mm 1.4. I had more fun with that setup than anything. Lately, I find that I am ...
