Re: in a rut

Trouble is you never know where they are going to be. I've seen them running down the streets around here. Not only deer, but possum, racoons, skunks, and assorted other wild life. What's really getting bad are coyotes. I guess the drought this year has forced them into town. Beware!

Got the fog light bulbs changed! They are kind of a pain to get to, and even more of a pain to get back in. Got a little crazy and put in a K & N filter in it too.

It was $3.34 here yesterday, as I usually buy gas on Monday or Tuesday. Last week it was $3.73. Almost a $.40 drop in a week, just weird.

Re: Small Mods Added to my '09 GT

Yep, it's the same length as the Honda antenna, just a slimmer base which fits a little better with the antenna base on the car. :) Now to tackle changing out the fog light bulbs. The passenger side housing is loose, so I will need to tighten it up a little. I'm not sure how it's held on, so that wi...

I'm not sure why the shift knob looks orange. Must have been the flash. Here's a different shot with the flash subdued (piece of masking tape). :)

Re: For Sale - (4) GT 18" Alloy Rims (Nashville, TN)

Pardon my asking, if this is common knowledge, but I'm new to the Vibe modding community. I have a 2008 Vibe Base, that I'm looking to do some modifications to. Is there any chance that you have pictures of your Vibe with these wheels installed? If the previous poster falls through, I too may be in...

Re: Small Mods Added to my '09 GT

I'm thinking the rust is from the welding material. I didn't notice it until I took that pic, so I painted it with some VHT Hi-Temp black. I got the tip at a local muffler shop, $47 installed. The rest of the system was in good shape, and I didn't want it any louder. :) I had the stock tip before. ;...

Re: New Vibe Owner

I found the perfect antenna for my Vibe GT. I had installed a Honda S2000 one, but it was kind of large on the base, and really didn't follow the line of the base, just little too large. I was talking with a friend of mine who has a 2011 Mazda 3 and he said his antenna was straight without a flared ...

Re: How do you remove the shift knob 2009 GT automatic?

Yeah, the Beetle had a steel band that held the shift boot and knob on the shifter. The only way to get it off was to cut the steel band with a Dremel and cutting wheel, and pull straight up, then you had to use a wire tie to reinstall, PITA. Typical German engineering, over complicated.

How do you remove the shift knob 2009 GT automatic?

I been thinking about changing the shift knob on my GT for awhile now, but haven't figured out whether it just unscrews, or is fixed on with some sort of trick engineering. Any help appreciated. TIA. :)

I wash mine when it needs it. I normally keep a cover over it, as it does sit in the driveway all the time. Works wonders for keeping the bird doo off of it. ;) I do need a new cover though, as the one I'm using is for the Corvette I used to have, and doesn't quite cover all of the rear. :D

I'm having the same annoyance. It worked fine 2 days ago, last night was a no show. Looks strange with just 2 working, and the third one dark. Seems there would be an easier way to fix this than removing the radio and all the surrounding stuff just to reseat or replace a small bulb.

My 2009 has 109,000 on the clock, and runs like a sewing machine. High mileage yes, but well taken care of. The engine is clean as a pin inside. It should be around for another 109,000. So they are well built. I couldn't be happier. :)

I was using some spray detailer to wipe it down before I covered it last evening, and noticed the rear spoiler seemed kind of loose. Is this normal, or is it actually loose? Seems to me it should be tight, with a slight movement allowing for cushioning in the mounts. :?
