Most likely it was the difference between the cloth and whatever they put on for leather, leather can tend to make seats less comfortable than their cloth equivalents if the leather is not of good quality.
Well I have checked the sunroof drains, all clear, made sure the sunroof is fastened tightly ( no loose bolts). Checked around the replaced glass, checked the plugs in the floor, checked the seals of the doors, and as stated before removed the roof racks. I didn't find anything that would explain th...
Lol, no nobody has been sitting here. Did some further investigation, still don't know how he water is getting on the back seat, the plugs underneath are secure and not leaking, headliner as stated before is perfectly dry. That said I have found some other issues with water, which I have to look int...
I know it has been awhile since I was last here, but everything has been working well for the last year. I do have a problem now, the center of my rear seat is wet. I felt the headliner and it is dry, the sides of the seat are dry as well. I haven't looked too hard yet ( just noticed it tonight as I...
I believe the oil problem predates the 2.4 being used in the vibe/matrix, I believe ( from looking at Toyota forums about this issue) that the problems were up until the 2008 model year, but we're solved by the 2009 model year ( thus not affecting the vibe/matrix). I haven't experienced any issues w...
Don't like the interior colour as much as the saddle, but like the rest, ( and the colour is still good). I do like that it seems not to have the "wood" trim on it.
Piles of snow are too easy ( or they used to be). I think the pile needs to be dirt ( or at least dirt showing through a layer of snow for those of you where spring hasn't come close to arriving yet).
This one is mine (even if I can sort of cheat thanks to the fact I own both cars). IMG_0652web.jpg and the challange (such as it is) is your car in front of a pile of earth (in this case you can see it above the roof of the Matrix, it is from the construction happening next door). IMG_0653web.jpg I ...
Hmm... Looks different than I was expecting, but will have to see when I take it apart, will have to see how they are secured in the frame alright. Maybe it has just popped out, but I suspect that it was some sort of plastic bit that has snapped, I am hoping to be able to figure out a way to resecur...
Well as I said it is going to have to wait for warmer weather, but will definately let you know what I find, it does still work but is contacting the surround at the top unless I pull it into position before I use it, not going to leave it like that for long.
Just noticed that the Temp control on my 09 is loose at the top, it is sitting at an angle and moves in and out. I am going to wait till warmer weather to take a look ( cold weather and removing plastic pieces don't really go together), but would be interested in seeing a picture of the assembly wit...
As usual your cars look great. I am curious as to why you rotate your winter tires parts way through the season ( not that it is a bad thing). With the milage you put on your vibes I wouldn't think it was necessary but I am sure you have your reasons, and would like to hear them ( not trying to con...
I think it looks great, except I don't understand why there is the wod look in the shifter area, it's the only place it is on the interior and sort of looks out of place for that reason. I may be in the minority but for some reason I love the orangey leather, and I think it works really well with th...

You are of course correct for the OEM wheels, but the original poster was looking at universal fit wheels with both bolt patterns so they will fit without a problem.
Well as we have had more snow etc recently I can say that they are still comparing favorably to my partners 1 year old Blizzaks on the 3 sport, I am sure that a pure snow tire will work better if you are in an area that gets a lot os snow, but for the conditions here they are great. The barber are y...
From the shots of the car it is obvious that you took good care of it, too bad that darn rust got it.m the engine compartment was immaculate for a car that old and with that much milage. I know how it feels to loose an otherwise good car to rust, if does feel like it has left too early. On a happier...
As mentioned a tune up nowadays is replacing the spark plugs at whatever interval the manufacturer recommends in the owners manual, besides that it is just fluid checks, and other checks. You don't even have to replace the plugs if they look okay, but a new set can't hurt either. Cars are definately...
Sorry didn't mean to come across as insulting your intelligence, just wanted to warn of the potential scam, again sorry if I sounded condescending not my intention.
I would suspect it is a scam, if they call back again I would at least make sure there is a phone numbe r to call them back at, and definately don't give them a credit card number or any other personal info that that can use to get at your finances or use to steal your identity. I will only giv no t...
Yes I know all about rust my first car was a 1972 Volvo wagon that I got in 1984, so I learned all about repairing rust with that ( unfortunately they didn't rust proof cars like they do today, and Volvos were not as bad as some cars were back then). Thankfully it seems that cars do not show visible...
Agreed keep the car as long as it meets your needs and continues to be reliable enough to take you anywhere you want to go. ( and Vibeenvy with the milage you put on yours and the care it appears you take of it 12 years should be no problem, and I would think as long as rust doesn't get it you shoul...
That's not quite right, collision pays out if you cause an accident resulting in damage to your vehicule, ( and also in hit and run damage) ( at least that is the way it typically works here) Comprehensive covers glass and damages when a deer runs into you etc. It depends on what your car is worth we...
I thought the sore to was the largest Kia suv, isn't the sport age the smallest Kia suv ( built on the same platform as the Tucson)?
Anyway glad everyone is okay, the car can be replaced ( though it does hurt in a different way) but lives cannot.
Caretaker, while the price may be way too high in the states, it is not too far out up here in Canada where the OP is from, yes we still get to pay way more than you guys even when the car is used, it is starting to get better with some manufacturers selling for fairly close to the US price, but oth...
I have to agree the price is a little high, I too think around $11,000 would be about right. I paid 12,000 for my Matrix in July and it is the Mid level one ( with the larger engine ( which is both a plus and a minus, so I wouldn't worry about that, but theoretically it should cost a little more) an...
As promised here are my impressions of my Nexen Winguard sport snow tires ( not to be confused with the winguard snow tires as available from Walmart, not quite the same tire). On dry or wet roads these tires compare favorably to the Falken all seasons that came with my car when I bought it, they ar...
Didn't get any of that down here ( though there were a few flurries at work didn't amount to anything and was gone by the time I got out) but I am sure it is coming.
No problem, I'm just afraid I may have missed my opportunity to get the car clean before winter, still waiting for them to pave the roads again ( looks like maybe next week from the way they are going. Then hopefully a good warm day so I can at least wash and wax the car ( never got around to finish...
You make me feel guilty for how dirty my car is at this time ( not entirely my fault, they have been working on the roads near the house and they have been gravel for the last few months, not easy to keep the car spotless). Your Mom's car looks great!
Finaly got my winter tires on (its supposed to snow a bit this weekend, and next week, nothinglike the last minute when they have been availble for months). WINTER MODE 001.JPG WINTER MODE 002.JPG WINTER MODE 003.JPG They are Nexen Winguards Sports, 215/45/17, on Fast rims (not the OEM) I just don't...
I needed roof racks to carry large items (such as drywall) from Home Depot. Searched onloine and all the available racks were more expensive than I wanted to spend. I took a good look at the racks I had from a previous car and came up with a modification to use on my Matrix (should work on a Vibe wi...
Blanching doesnt normally cure a pull to the side ( in my experience) unless you are meaning something else than what I consider balancing. I would say an alignment would not be a bad idea, and generally they will let you know if anything is out of whack with you suspension when they do they alignme...
I don't know if there is any difference but I find my Matrix seats to be very comfortable. I had no fatigue from them on my annual drive out east ( 15 hours straight) and also find them to be more comfortable than the seats in my partener's Mazda 3 ( we are actually both in agreement on this) . No t...
Okay, but I hope you are running four snow tires, it really isn't good to only run two as the differences in traction can do weird things. You would be much better off with all four.
If it is truly not coming in the door seals, the there is only one or two places it could be coming from, either the roof rack area or the windshield ( depending on where the leak is). So yes i would probably check the roof rack area for leaks, maybe you can use a hose to try to spray only that area...
I take it you mean that you want to use your old tires with the "new" rims, in that case you will need to try to find 16" rims from a corrolla which I am pretty sure would be after market. Depending on how old your tires are it may be cheaper to get new 15" tires and rims, but of...
I have to agree that the clutch is not the smoothest ( even on the 2.4 ) so I don't think there is anything mechanically wrong with your car, it is probably something you are going to have to continue to live with. It just seems ( as was stated above) to be a poor relationship between the throttle a...
I thought the 08's didn't use sensors in the wheels, but used the ABS sensors to determine differences in speed somehow to determine the tire pressures. In any case if you have the sensors they should transfer just fine as long as the installer doesn't break any of them.
