Re: Engine makes loud clicking / clanking noise when car is turned on (03 Vibe)

Sorry to hear this news buddy...did you ever nail down exactly what the prob. was? Engines for these things are fairly inexpensive and easy to install... Someone looked at it but didnt open it up, said it most likely is broken rod arm and not worth trying to fix it. Said my best bet is getting a us...

It is with a saddened heart I have to lay my vibe to rest. I thought it was going to last me many more years. Rip.

Engine makes loud clicking / clanking noise when car is turned on (03 Vibe)

Hello all, I was driving down the highway when all of a sudden my car makes this really loud noise I would describe as a clank, clicking, or ticking noise so I pull off the highway and park at the nearest parking lot because it sounded very bad. I drive a 2003 Pontiac Vibe, has never been low on oil...

tire install problem question

I went to Sams Club this afternoon to get new tires on my 03 Pontiac Vibe. When I went to pick it up it was about 7:20 pm and the tire department closed at 7:00pm so the manager gave me the receipt and my key back. I drove about 1 mile and I heard a noise coming from the rear passenger tire. The noi...

Still looking for answers...2009 GT with moons and tunes.....I picked up a used kenwood excelon 9140 that I want to install. I have tried 3 harness kits....none match the stock plugs on the existing radio. I had an online chat with Cructhfeld, they could not find a harness. I am trying to avoid doi...

I just finished building my fiberglass enclosure for small 8" sub. It was a pain. Looks decent and sounds decent though.

Well I cut the front left speaker wire at harness #1 and all works well for that, not to splice into the other three.

Re: Where can I get the monsoon sub enclosure?

Here is the final product, http://i.imgur.com/clClX.jpg It took me forever and a day to do because I work 7 days a week, I'd say its easily doable over a weekend. It works to my surprise even though I felt I was doing it wrong the entire time. Here is a very messy pic of my amps under the seat. http...

Re: Speaker install help

I now tested all 4 speakers and there is no continuity in any of the speakers leading to the harness. Could something been unplugged that breaks the continuity?

Thanks for the reply, I ended up putting a bunch of resin along the inside of the enclosure where the back meets the fleece fabric, seems to not leak anymore. I was thinking about it, I saw a thread by Water Boy where he used roof sealer from home depot but what worried me about that was car smelling since it gets real hot where I am at.

Car interior completely removed, recommend any mods?

I removed my cars interior for two reasons, run amplifier install and clean the nasty carpet. While I have everything out, should I do anything else? Once back in I plan to never redo.

Thanks!

Now the hard part is having the sub out of the way of the floor that opens up without having the sub touch the enclosure with the back of the sub.

Re: Where can I get the monsoon sub enclosure?

Well I laid the first layer today and after it dried I removed it from car, which wasnt easy, I really had to yank on that thing since I put so much tape down but I got it out. Almost all the tape is now attached to the fiberglass. Is that normal and do I just leave it?

Re: Where can I get the monsoon sub enclosure?

Ohh I see, I'm still waiting for my stuff to arrive, but I'll probably put the amplifier in the spare tire compartment, and run wires through to the sub and leave it in the hatch. I don't use it to haul things very often, and if I ever need it it'll be easy to remove. Something like this: http://fo...

Have you tried looking for a similarly optioned Matrix? Other than that, I guess you could always make a custom enclosure. I've seen people take out the spare tire and cut a sheet or plywood or MDF to that panel's size, and putting their subwoofer flat down. As for me, I decided to just get a pre-m...
