Re: Towing my stuff across country?

I towed a 5'x10' loadrite trailer with 3' tall stakebody sides several times with my '05 awd at with a u-haul hitch. I usually haul a 550 lb atv or two dirt bikes at about 250 lbs each for 120-150 miles at a time. As far as wind resistance, the dirt bikes are taller, the atv wider. I mostly take it ...

Re: New member, new vibe 2009 2.4, new crash

I had a similar thing happen to my '05 AWD. A deer ran out into the front drivers side and hood two weeks after I bought it. Luckily, I had put on a $500 deductible collision insurance policy and they provided a rental car. It was repaired at their recommended facility, with a lifetime warranty. The...

Re: The 2.4L Engine

My new to me '09 AWD 2.4 gets between 25.4 & 27.4 mpg so far, computed individually at only 4 fillups. The oil was changed about 1000 miles before me, I'll know more after I get it changed. I'm hoping this car will go at least 200-250k, I really like the performance of the 2.4.

I replaced my first one with a unit installed by Best Buy. The PO fixed my second one before I bought it with bulbs from Radio Shack and it works great. He said it was pretty easy.

Searcher, do you use search tempest? It allows a search radius of CL ad's: http://www.searchtempest.com I've found all three of my vibes on CL, and I've bought and sold a couple of bikes, but it took some time. Send an email, leave a vm, follow up. Move on if you don't get response, or the response ...

Here is a pic of my new to me 09 AWD Mystic Blue. The RT43 205 60 16's were just mounted and I put on the 12 spoke wheel covers that I found at Pep Boys: https://scontent-lga3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/12821362_10154088609279073_8250695703761967953_n.jpg?oh=57565062d5b0d74e4d66b55876f9832...

Here's a pic of my new to me 09 Mystic Blue with my wife's 05 in the background. We were picking up her 05 at my mechanic's, the oem starter was just replaced at 150k. Edited to add those are new RT43 205 60 16's on "Mystique" with 12 spoke wheel covers that I found at Pep Boys: https://sc...

Re: Looking for an AWD model. Are there any issues with them?

My '05 AWD is slightly less peppy than the '05 FWD, but I toggle the overdrive button on the shift lever and find it quite capable. I've driven it in the NH White Mtns and it handles well. The '09 AWD 2.4 is peppy! Both of my AWD's rear differential seals leak. The '09 is new to me this past week wi...

I'm easing into the new to me '09 AWD 2.4 Mystic Blue that I brought home this week. MBM is a beautiful color! Post some pictures when you get a chance ;)! Will do. Today, I ordered the 205 60 16 RT43's, put on the Pep Boys wheel covers, cleaned her up a bit, then got a call from my wife shopping i...

Re: What did you do to your Vibe today?

I'm easing into the new to me '09 AWD 2.4 Mystic Blue that I brought home this week. I shopped around for tires today for the OEM 17" aluminum rims that were included with the sale but I'd like more ground clearance than the spec'd 215 45 17 tires allow. I think I'm going to stick with the blac...

Re: 100K Maintenance ?

I recommend a transmission flush. The fluid was nasty in both of my '05s when I bought them. The fwd had 117k and the awd 83k, neither had been flushed, so I had them done. I think the recommended interval is 75k.

Re: Best All-Season Tire?

I wouldn't mind getting updates from some of you that have purchased these tires mentioned above. I think I am going to go with 205/60/16 to get a bit more sidewall height since I seldom take advantage of the Vibe's handling limits. I prefer the 205 60 16 for the extra height over the 205 55 16. Th...

Re: What did you do to your Vibe today?

I've only had this car for a couple of weeks now and have put on over 1000 miles. My commute of 110 mpd and the running around to get the car registered, inspected, etc., are behind the mileage. The first thing I did was to get the oil changed (po was doing it every 3k+/-, keeping track with the tri...

Vibe newbie

Hi everyone, I just bought an '05 Silver Surfer.... like maybe 3 hours ago! :D I found this place when I googled: "camping in Pontiac Vibe", though I'm planning to use it mostly as my daily driver. I'll poke around here abit, maybe ask a question or three, put together a signature, etc.
