Re: New 2009 GT owner

If anyone ever does find themselves stuck without the ability to turn that climate control knob, here is my personal defrost procedure for my (recently murdered) Vibe. My problem is that I cannot breathe the car exhausts that enter the car at road level, so "defrost" and "vent" s...

Re: Badly rear ended Vibe on ebay, no airbag deployment!!

Thanks, Vibenvy. Yeah, as it was happening I was afraid I would be hurt, but my Vibe protected me totally! Unfortunately, no new Vibe for me. I got a Kia Soul ! model. I have a connective tissue disorder, meaning that the "recipe" my body has for my ligaments and tendons is wrong and all m...

Re: Badly rear ended Vibe on ebay, no airbag deployment!!

I had to respond to this thread because I was rear-ended in my Vibe on Thanksgiving Eve. It was raining. I came up on stopped traffic a bit too fast and I stopped quickly, but did not squeal my tires or veer out of my lane at all. As I came to a rest I looked in my rear-view mirror to see if anyone ...

Re: junk yard vibes?

Anyone currently looking, my '09 GT (red) was totaled, and wherever State Farm Michigan sends cars they buy from policyholders to junk, mine is going there. I can try to find out if anyone is interested. The front end was toast, but the rest was in good shape.

Re: Debadging and black pontiac symbol

May I interject a question? I never heard of "debadging" until I got my Vibe in June and started reading on here. Is this something relatively new in car circles? I do love the look of the debadged Vibes. When did debadging become popular, and was it with Vibes or another make/model that i...

Yes! Check out the thread in the Lounge titled "Random Acts of Vibe Love," they do what you do and take a photo of it and post it on the thread. It is fun to read and see their little tete-a-tetes.

Re: 2007 Sliding Visors

My 2003 PT Cruiser had sliding visors, and I loved them. When I got the Vibe in June, I went looking for a solution. not having them anymore was not an option for me. This is what I ended up with: http://www.amazon.com/Gray-Side-window-Visor-Extenders/dp/B002JR949K" onclick="window.open(th...

Re: Vent visors/window deflectors - AVS, GM or WeatherTech?

After our recent midwest heatwaves, we have had sub-tropical style rainstorms. Drenching! Twice now I have had to get a meal at a drive through when it was raining like crazy. Both times I was sopping wet before my food came. That is when I noticed that the Vibe is wider at the beltline than at the ...

I am still having too much fun getting up to the speed limit quickly and pulling out of curves with some speed. How long does it take before a new Vibe owner cares more about learning how many miles per gallon you can get than the fun of driving this responsive little car?

Re: When your Vibe kicks the bucket...what will you get?

My husband discovered the Vibe for me. He kept his eyes out on the highway for a hatchback that was not too big (I have a problem even thinking of buying an SUV), yet big enough to carry my walker with a seat that I use in my work. (I do have bad knees, but I mostly use the walker to help my neck - ...

Hi TRB, yes that 66 Mustang was fun. My first husband and I rebuilt the small-block 289 engine in the rented garage at our apartment complex. It was an adventure owning a 20 year-old Mustang. I had a cowl cover that was held in with spring loaded clips. It kept the rain out of the passenger compartm...

I have really appreciated the discussion in this thread. I am settling in to my Vibe having picked it up on Tuesday, still adjusting seat, headrest and mirrors. I have a fairly perfect driving record. I got my driver's permit the day that Nixon resigned. That must have been August 1974. Never been pulled over. Never been ticketed. Got rear-ended once by a teenager on a cell phone in Daddy's business vehicle that she was not authorized to drive. I refused to...

Mrs. Slocum, did you ever get a tag for the front of your Vibe? I just got my 2009 Vibe this week, and I am eager to get the dealer advertisment off the front of my car! Buying Vibe this Week

Hello all, We began thinking of getting me a new car recently, since I drive all around the county for my job, and neither of us are able to work on cars. My 2003 PT Cruiser is just at the stage where I end up renting a car every few months so that I can take it in for repairs. Repairs, rental costs...
