Re: Add cruise control to 2009 vibe?

Am I glad to hear this! I bought my 2009 with 2.4 and five speed when it had 12 miles on it brand new. No electronics package- it was the absolute worst month of sales in GM history (September 2008). What was available for delivery in the Bay Area was what you could choose from. Some things I have o...

Re: Fixed my 2009 Gt broken radio knob!

My replacement is just starting to act up after three years of service. Picking up a couple more OEM knobs from Rock Auto.

Re: Fixed my 2009 Gt broken radio knob!

My time it came. Power and volume knob for me. I decided to skip the removal of the radio face and cut the sucker out. So I did. Rotary tool with cutter , staying away from the middle. Small needle nose vice grips. Out. Took the lip off an OEM from a GM dealer in about 90 seconds with same tool with...

Re: Hauling on the roof rack? 4' x 8' sheets

Have to echo others here: borrow or rent a truck. I’ve loaded many 8’ objects with everything flat but the drivers seat. I’ve hauled longer objects with the passenger front window open. Also with the rear open and bungeed. Toyota oem roof rack/ rails rated to 132 lbs. The vibe is a remarkably versat...

Re: Clunk from right front wheel

This is why this site is indispensable. Had this start to occur and came here for advice after only a short bout of head scratching and before rolling out the floor jack blindly.

Thanks all.

Re: How To: Change rear wiper blade, 2009-2010

Many thanks- Like many things in this well thought out car, this is remarkably simple and elegant in design. Still, I admit I looked at it blankly and before yanking and pulling and breaking something and came here. And here's the clear solution. With photographic guide! It took about the same time ...

Re: Is your Vibe used commercially?

[Does it bring business in? With the cars being so rare and unique I'm sure you at least get looks I meant business name on the title. It's not a marked car. I have a small business of eclectic focus, or lack thereof. I haul everything from lights cameras and action to artwork in motion. The Vibe i...

Re: 2009 Vibe, saying hello, asking a question

My 2009 doesn't ride that harshly. On the other hand, it's a small Pontiac, not a Cadillac. I run my stock tires at 35, as well. You definitely feel the road in a Vibe and I like that. Still, mine seems pretty smooth, even at 85 mph on the freeway. I've got 36,xxx plus on mine, but maybe the previou...

Is your Vibe used commercially?

I may be in the minority, but my commercially registered 2009 works hard. The thoughtfully designed myriad of ways the interior can be arrayed and loads tied off make it truly utilitarian. I move small cargoes around in my business and rarely have to upgrade to a rental van or truck with the Vibe. I...

Re: The Official "What's Your Gas Mileage?" Thread

3-1/2 years and 36,xxx miles on a 2009 - 5 speed 2.4 engine- I live in the middle of the SF Bay Area and get consistently 23-24 mpg mixed (including the hills of San Francisco and the East Bay). On the highway going 80-85 mph to LA I run 30 mpg. I know it could get better on the highway, but who wan...

Re: Fixed my 2009 Gt broken radio knob!

I finally got around to fixing my radio knob Thanks trb - I like this direct approach. My power knob is spinning 95% of the time and I know it's gioing to need attention right away. Or whenever it totally fails. I'll try and follow up after I do it, which will certainly wait until I get down to the...

I, too, am back with a new login name. I wish there could have been a bit more notice, but that's that. The important thing is this site still exists and is invaluable for a vibe owner. Now about that radio knob . . . .
