I change my synthetic engine oil every 10,000 miles, with an additional filter change in between at 5,000 mi. While on the lift I also pull the trans plug and drain it. Takes 3 qts to refill. Cheap insurance. I've always heard that Toyota automatics like fresh fluid.

Dump and fill.............

Do this frequently, every couple of thousand till it looks fairly clean (at least three or four times) and then stick with dump and fill every oil change. It takes three quarts, transmission will love it.

I've heard that Toyotas love clean fresh transmission fluid. Given that its easy to dump and refill (as it has a drain plug, and takes three quarts after you dump it) then I do it every oil change. Best plug choice is that listed in the owners manual. Yes, they do give you the plug part number in there. Mine lists a Delphi plug (which is what was in the engine from the factory) and also lists a NGK plug number. Bosch is a good plug, I have used Bosch in a 2.0L Plymouth Breeze for many miles be...
