Checking the pressure before filling won't affect the level at all. Just connect the hose to the port and the gauge will give you a reading. Just make sure the a/c is running.

You're not gonna hit your top speed by taking each gear up to only 7000rpm. You will need to pretty much redline it in order to land as close or past the lift point in the next gear. That means bringing it up to 8200rpm or so and shifting fast.2 miles is a pretty tight distance to try and top it out...

92.7mph was my personal best but I've seen faster. I always ended up being in 4th gear for a second or two before crossing the 1/4 mile mark.

Why not just open the doors and towel dry the rubber before it freezes? did you check the relay? or swap bulbs? to be 100% sure?The reason why i'm so persistant on the relay theory is because I made the mistake last year of mis diagnosing my same problem and wasted $160 for new bulbs when all I needed to do was replace a $6 relay.

I reused the front stock speaker spacers. I just had to gut the old speaker from it and line the rim and base of the spacer with weather stripping. The check valve has always ticked. It's just a lot less noticeable when the stock air box is installed because of the large size of the box. I verified that by listening to a stock Corolla and heard the same ticking, though muffled.

It's the protective oil burning off. My magnaflow burned it off after a couple days. The thin layer of oil prevents rust while the exhaust is boxed up in a warehouse.

The plastic rubber tube that encloses the cable must expand when it heats up and put tension on the steel cable. No more for me. I gave up coffee and soda 2 years ago. I used to drink either expresso double shots in the morning or a 16oz mug of coffee.I now drink OJ instead 2x a day. The energy lasts a lot longer and it never makes you jittery.

Careful about making it too tight. Heat and cold affect throttle cable tension. A little maladjustment will cause it to idle high and through a CEL.

The A/C is your answer. I've had mine through 3 summer/winter cycles. I avg 32mph during the winter and 26mpg during the summer. The mpg drop is completely caused by using the A/C. There's no real way to get around it.

Magnaflow always sells individual parts. Just look for a 3" round muffler. Get one that's between 18-22 inches long with 2.25" inlet on ebay.
