Beauty! Where in Ontario are you? I have to get under my GT and check out an exhaust rattle, if I end up replacing anything I may just think a bit more about this porting...
Great write-up! It translated well to the rear brakes on my 2003 GT. Only thing for me was the rear caliper! It wont compress enough to fit the rear pads and new rotor :x . I got the caliper compressor from the auto store and still couldn't get it to work. A big part of the problem is the caliper - ...
Manufacturer website says Vibes 2004-2008, any idea if it will work with my 2003 GT? I'd grab it and just try but shipping across the boarder makes it a bit more of a hassle to risk it..
I'm looking for some Rim/Tire deals on the cheap and I've been cursing trying to get all the info from anyone with a vague ad on Kijiji... Seems more difficult than I originally thought! Tire prices are bad enough, but trying to up the size to an 18" rim has got me comparing, calculating and cu...
Hitting lift isn't going to wear your clutch faster.
I've got a replacemet OEM clutch in my '03 GT. Previous owner told me he tried a couple stage 1 aftermarkets but that they failed after minimal use so he reverted to stock..
Today I tightened up the parking brake cable on my 2003 GT. Easy-peasy as long as you can crack the 10mm bolts inside the arm-rest storage / console. My smallest ratchet wouldn't fit so I just had to hold the extension and socket and crack 'em. 4 10mm bolts holding the sotrage/console down and one 1...
$1100 for the rear glass and wiper?! I can't help thinking it would be far less to rip it out of a write-off or parter at a scrap yard. It doesn't look like it would be tough to 'plug n play' another window.
I usually get about 500km to a tank in the city in my GT 6-spd. Shift before 2500 rpm and put it in 5th by 60km/h. I usually get about ~44 liters in the tank. So in the winter I'm getting about 8.5L/100 km or somewhere around 27mpg. Summer on the highway with AC I get about 600 to a tank so somethin...
2003 GT - The 6 speed is still going strong. I changed the fluid with the recommended 75/90 synthetic at about 275 000 km and the stuff that came out was like black water with plenty of little nasties in it. I got the car around 260 000 km a year ago and I've never had trouble. First and reverse are...
Anybody know a good way to secure these caps? I pulled the crossbars so that I could clear snow easier this winter, and the little plastic clips just kinda... snapped off. So now I can slide them on easily, but nothing secures them down. I don't want to go the permanent route with an epoxy or anythi...
I always struggle to find the taller (gt?) filters for my '03 GT. All the catalogs in store recommended the same filters for all '03-'08 vibes. On occasion I'll see one different # for a '05 and it will be the taller filter.
If only i would right down the # for the correct filter! Mental note!
I'm in the same 'thrifty' boat as you, hahaha! Currently looking for some winter tires and rims used on the locals. I've got a set in storage but if I remember they were on their last legs...
Just stumbled upon this thread - Wow! I'm glad it worked out (in the end) for you. Any talk of transmission issues and I get a little nervous - my 6 spd that I bought 6 months / 20k km ago feels like it's got water for fluid, but it works - which makes me hesitant to change out the fluid and possibl...
Wow! LOVE the CF on white look. Damn fine! I've never worked with the stuff before, how does it stick to the interior trim pieces? Did you need to sand up the surface to get a good adhesion or did the stuff just grab on and hold? You've reeeeeally got me wanting to do all my interior bits.
Beauty! I picked up my Black '03 GT in the Spring of 2012 (two days before being laid off ). She's got similar curb rash and paint peeling on the rims. What did it run you for machining and painting the rims. I love the look of black rims, and the trough looks great too. Did/do you have any is...
My lower front bumper cover has a mean 'raccoon bite' just where it meets the wheel well liner. Makes for a nasty hole!I'm hoping to find a lower cover in abyss, smooth finish... Haha someone wish me luck!
